a. 2-0. And that's 2-0 in the SEC.

b. 8-game win streak. And counting.

c. Bama beat Mizzou 38-19. We beat Mizzou 35-12. Sure, different sequencing, but very similar outcomes. We'll see next week if it transfers to top foes.

d. 0 turnovers. 2 take-aways.

e. JG managing games very well.

Year could not begin any better than ours has. Looking forward to whupping the Dawgs.

He was awful last week, and I usually defend JG. I didn’t see the game today, but I’ll watch it as soon as I can to see if he looked any better.

His numbers weren't better but he played a better game today no doubt. Most of his Incompletions were long passes or due to coverage. Honestly I don't remember a single really bad pass and he made some great 3rd down passes.

It was night and day. The numbers aren’t his best, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play better. He was decisive. He was accurate aside from a couple throws. It was like someone else climbed in his skin.

Few times where he held the ball too long. I don't know if it's Chaney, but I rarely see a safety valve. He needs one. Especially on 3rd and long. There was one where all eligible receivers went deep and no one stayed home. He was sacked. How many times has the underneath safe throw resulted in a big gain? I don't see it much in our offense. Also, I don't see much attempts to move the pocket and isolate the defense. Florida had a easy TD, when they moved the pocked right and had an easy toss and catch back to the left. Missou caught UT several times on runs by getting them to heavily commit to one side.

Last week was 1-12 on 3rd down and chose to punt on 4th and 1.

Today? 6-13 on 3rd down and 4-4 on 4th down. That means only 3 drives didnt work. 2 punts and a missed field goal.

Last week? 10 rushing yards in first half.

Today? 232 rushing yards.

5/5 in the Redzone.

3 penalties, 20 yards. NO stupid penalties, especially by Banks.

All great things.

The negative?
We need more pressure on QB. Only 1 sack for us. Gotta get to the QB more frequently. We need help on that D line soon. Probably our weak spot.

Our pass defense was rough. I know we have some players off, and hey, make the freshman QB beat you is a good strategy, but too many big plays given up in the passing game.

Overall? You HAVE to feel good about where we are in our 2nd game. Guarantano haters are silent tonight. Great decisions by him today. Looks like he is handling the offense well. Looking forward to seeing Georgia exposed tonight by Auburn.

I love this Vols team already. Amarius Mims is ours. He sees where this is going.

Pruitt said he thought Mizz did a good job getting the ball out of the QB's hand quickly and that they kind of neutralized our pass rush.

Pruitt also said that if our corners can plaster on those short to intermediate routes we will give our pass rush more time to get to the QB

Fact
19 players were credited with at least 1 tackle while 2 more were credited with an assist for a total of 21 players involved.

Question
Was it me, or did we pretty much stay in a zone-D after taking a 3 score lead?

Conjecture
Pruitt's still shifting gears with his defense. He sorta played vanilla 2nd half while working on depth. We'll notice an immediate improvement as Shamberg returns & starters take majority snaps.
