I'm a numbers guy, and I know that sometimes numbers don't always tell the whole story.

In our last 17 games, we are 12-5. An excusable loss to Florida, an inexplicable loss to Vandy (which I assume was the inspiration for the infamous petition, a semi-excusable loss @Mizzou, another inexplicable loss to aTm (which led to the team meeting which is credited with helping inspire our turnaround), and another tough, but excusable loss to Florida. Those five losses came by an average of 5.6 points.

The 12 wins, dating back to Jan. 26th, have come by an average of 19.9 points. That is half of our season win total by an average of nearly 20 points, and all 12 wins coming against SEC teams or NCAA tournament teams. I know the SEC is down, and we haven't faced the giants of the NCAA tournament, but maintaining a margin of victory of 19.9 points over a 12 game span is impressive nonetheless. Also worth noting, only one of those wins came by less than double-digits (beat Miss. St. by 7).

In fact of our 24 wins, only 3 have come by less than double-digits (USC-U, Arky, Miss St.).

That is a little concerning if the Michigan game is close. Of our 12 losses, 11 have been by 9 points or less, which suggests that we struggle to win close games.

The last two close games we have experienced (Florida in the SECT, and Iowa), we have split decisions. We wilted under pressure vs UF in the second half under smothering defense, and found a way to comeback from an early deficit, and do to Iowa, exactly what Florida did to us.

Hopefully, we can build a comfortable lead on UM, but I fear a back and forth game, and I hope that Iowa game was a boon in confidence for us in tight games.

Our defense has been smothering these past 3 games, which hadn't been there in those close games. I think we would win more of those close games with the defense we have now.

Its been tough to what a close game in this past year, simple as a better Free throw % is the reason they have been able to maintain and blow out teams.
