Some interesting take by recruits on our football program in "shambles"

But, all this talk on message boards is totally going to kill recruiting. We have to present a united front, because those that don't are a part of the problem and will make recruits want to look elsewhere.

Good news, indeed.

People (coaches & players) in the program aren't dumb. They understand the expectations; and what's ultimately at stake.

Let's show that we honor our contract with DD, and see if he, his staff (whomever that might or might not be), and the players make good on the expectations. That's what DD's initial hire and the TN scholarship fund was/is all about, expectations.

Goal = Bring in tallent and develop it, from the top down. Then the winning will begin.

Whether it's DD or another coach winning starts with leadership and the current team is absolutely devoid of good leadership outside of MJ. Even if DD is Zook 2.0 90% of what UT needs right now is talented players that can be used to motivate existing players which are not executing the intangibles like leadership needed to be an excellent team. Unfortunately the stick is pretty short when you have very few options to bench players with bad behavior for.

These kids have been told exactly where the program is and what to expect. Nothing has changed on that front. None of this is surprising. Now if Tennessee starts losing assistants that recruited some of them, then things may change somewhat.

I don't think any of these recruits would bolt if Chaney was not with us next season...jmo

Some grown-ups need to take a lesson from these guys. I especially like Khalid Henderson's quote that says: "...All eyes are on us."

That sells to competitive 18 year old athletes who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves so that the nation will sit up and take notice! That's what 90% of the losers on this site do not grasp because they've probably never played one down of football and bailed out of every situation in their life when the going got a little tough!

Go Vols! Firmly entrenched on the CDD bandwagon--but convinced that Chaney must go!

That's why my kids play sports. If taught correctly, they will be able to handle things. Handle competition, obstacles and adversity.
It's a shame that some kids handle losses and obstacles better and more maturely than the fan base.

Do you want a front runner as a football recruit or someone that is going to be ready to roll up his sleaves and do some heavy lifting?

Mods feel free to move to recruiting forum, but I thought it dealt more with football.

Asked if they were looking around here are some of the recruits responses:

Drae Bowles: "No sir. I love the Tennessee program. I have faith in the program."

George Bullock: "No, it does not affect my decision to go to Tennessee. I am excited to go there and help the team out any way I can."

Jason Croom: "Nope. I know all this stuff is gonna change next year. So, I'm not worried."

Khalid Henderson: "Not at all. We have talent already in place and coming in as well. Just about gelling together, and take this season to heart and working even harder for next year. All eyes are on us."

Justin King: "Nope, not at all. Things happen for a reason, but it just really made me start working even harder cause I feel like my class will turn some things around. But, at the end (of the day) we are family and that's what VFL stands for."

Nathan Peterman: "No sir. I'm still 100 percent."

Otha Peters: "No sir it don't."

Keithon Redding: "No, not at all."

Dalton Santos: "No sir it don't! I'm still a Tennessee Vol.

We can't have this... Dooley MUST stop recruiting these high-character athletes... Just one more reason he HAS to go, IMHO...

Although some may not like it, one of the reasons a kid chooses a school is the Coach and Staff. Everybody knows that thought process....Our facilities do not hurt either...Why in the midst of all this are we not giving Dooley another year....I cannot argue nor will I argue with this recruits of how they need not come here because of the coach....We need to stop sending that message....

These kids are inside looking out or more inside the program than we are and evidently they have seen enough to not even wavier....There will not be anymore steady progress made if we keep bashing this program as fans.

Dooley has a hell of a job to do....Leave him alone and let him do it.....Does he throw kids under the bus...according to some of the fans yes.....But we ask for a honest assessment and when he gives it then we criticize him for it....

Kids need discipline and structure...They don't always like it, but learn from it in the future and reflect back onto it when they have kids of there own....Dooley is building a family here under a mircoscope....so let it be.....

Now, if we could just get everyone to stop running with every unsubstantiated RUMOR and the irresponsible media from actually reporting them, then things should work out just fine.

Hahaha ... I thought we were in "melt-down." I guess that's just wishful thinking on part of some trolls.

I heard Santos was looking at Texas A&M more since they came into the SEC

Sherman isn't coaching tamu as of tonight or first thing in morning, so all new coaches so I don't think dalton is looking at them. Iirc he just confirmed he is 100% vol
