Brent Slusher - 6'4, 254lb TE from Auburn (SR)
Travis James - 6'3, 336lb OL from North Central College (FR)
Keensen Chambers - 6'6, 240lb DL from Dean College (SO)
Doak Raulston - 6'2, 190lb QB from Louisiana Tech (FR)

I'm guessing these guys are just squad members and shouldn't be expected to contribute?

I know we're not at the scholarship max. But we are about tapped out at the signees for this year. Can they take the unused scholarships?

Slusher from Auburn, how is he eligible?

He could have his undergrad degree from Auburn and walked on to Tennessee because of a different master's program.

There are about 1000 little loop holes for things like that.

Transfers count towards the 85 man limit.

Signees for this coming season count towards the 2010 class.

If what CDD says is true and he loves running mult-TE sets we might see Slusher out on the field at some point. That Travis James guy he does have the size, I would consider redshirting him this season and see if he can could compete for a job next year. At least we're getting some bodies in. Those were a few that caught my eye.

They'll all be redshirted with the exception of Slusher.

The majority of the guys you listed won't even dress for all the home games.

He was a Stud TE for Bell Co High which is a Class 3A power house here in Kentucky. He was a medical redshirt at the barn and may have set out last year to play NAIA ball at Union College. I'm not sure what his condition was but on another thread someone posted he had breathing problems. Maybe the fresh air on Rocky Top will treat him better than the inbread Alabama air.

He played at Union?

Doak Raulston - Yahoo! Sports

Raulston may not be the tallest QB there is, but he might have the potential to be a decent back up. This should help with the whole Lamaison drama. I think its time Lamaison gets his release after this addition, anyone else agree?

I think Lamaison should get release now. CDD has 4 QBs and the reason for not releasing was that it was hurting the team.

I agree there's no reason to not release him now. According to what Dooley said, we didn't release due to lack of depth at QB. Which is understandable.

James has to be a friend of Matt Milton's because they are both from the same town in IL. Has anybody ever heard of Dean College...did Slusher play much at Auburn?

All are walk ons. Don't count toward scholarship limits. Raulston was a key signee in CDDs second class at LaTech. He'll be a solid scout team quarterback this year.
