The race baiters would have you believe that white on black crime is a very serious problem in our country. The opposite is actually the truth. Sociologists and psychologists can give you their opinions on why the crime rate by blacks is so high --- poverty, oppression by whites, lack of fathers at home, etc. But the bottom line, relating it to today, is that the Trayvon Martin shooting is not something that happens everyday.

Black on white and black on black crime is something that does happen everyday. The United States has changed dramatically during the last 60 years.

Opportunities exist for anyone of any race willing to work hard for their dreams. Whitey does not spend his time at breakfast making plans for the day about what he can do to keep the black man down. It is the race hustlers who have kept fellow blacks down.

The “New Century Foundation” studies Federal crime reports, and found significant differences in crime ratio between races, verified by the FBI’s NCVS, National Crime Victimization Survey, and The Department of Justice’s UCR, Uniform Crime Reports, FBI Communication’s Division, 304-625-4995.

They state emphatically that the Judicial System is not biased against minorities.

Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

Blacks are three times more likely to use a hand gun, and twice more likely to use a knife.

Hispanics commit three times more violent crimes than whites, but the statistics are nebulous because sometimes they are classified as white, so it could be far higher.

The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic.

Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.

Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.

Blacks are seven times more likely to go to prison, Hispanics three times, and the reason is clear, because from 1980 to 2003 the US incarceration rate has tripled, and so proves that Justice is not only hard won, but well served.

Better attorneys! It's not a race thing it's a $$$ thing. IMHO if you are charged with a crime you should get the same financial resources the prosecution is planning on spending.

Better attorneys! It's not a race thing it's a $$$ thing. IMHO if you are charged with a crime you should get the same financial resources the prosecution is planning on spending.

It's not just about better attorneys, IMO, though that does play a huge part. The whole deck is stacked. It's the nature of the beast. The war on drugs is tailored to go after suppliers (disproportionately represented by minorities), rather than users, which is one major reason it's failing so badly.

Wow, GS. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the issue with the whole Trayvon Martin thing was ever about a prominence of white on black crime. It was that it's allegedly looked over and not prosecuted to the point that black on white crime is.

Also, the black community tends to sale/use to/with strangers. The white community is much more tight knit. Keeps crackers out of jail.

Totally agree. Except the last part. Meth and crack are very dangerous, but I don't think we can do a good job prohibiting a black market for them, and so it's not worth it to deal with all the unintended consequences.

I've long thought this was a big reason for the disparity. And this is multi-faceted. Another part of it is, well, whitey tends to try to keep his drug usage a bit more on the DL.

Cool. I strongly agree, though I'd prefer it doesn't come from government*. I read a book called Drug Crazy that was really good. The author demonstrated stats showing that the Truth anti-tobacco ad campaign has had far better results reducing usage than prohibition has historically.
