I have heard on some tv shows concerning college football that some experts do think Tennessee can come to Athens and play very well Saturday and beat a sorta still hungover UGA team after the loss to Bama took a lotta air out of their sails concerning this year's supposive national championship season. I know I have talked a lotta smack on here b4 about rival teams but I don't see why they make this prediction, not unless it is the fact that Stephens is starting and could have a breakout game if the defense is not on the field 80 percent of the game and they don't run the football most of the time, which was a dumb move against NIU. I say that if we haden't of ran the football so much, the score woulda been a lot worse, Stephens is a lot more of a confident QB who stands in the pocket and stands tall and throws with strike and accuracy, give the kid more of chance Clawson, shoot throw about 90 percent of the game and then run the ball up the middle to wear the D out and finish the ballgame.

With the size of NIU defensive front, running the ball seems like a pretty sound strategy. We just happen to suck at it. If we throw the ball on 90% of the plays Georgia will run us out of the stadium.

There is just no way we can beat them based on what the team has shown. Last year we had a senior QB and Cutcliffe. We were capable of big plays.

We have only had ONE really big play this year (Stephens to Moore).
Unless the running game can come to life and Stephens can play the best football of his life we won't score more than 9 points. the dawgs will score AT LEAST 21.

UT has to play a lot better than what they have shown. It can be done. They will have to show me though. Im shocked at their play so far.

With them getting a off week, which is big. Revenge factor for the two beatdowns we gave them. The fact that we just suck. It doesn't paint a rosey picture about what will transpire on saturday.

I know it's sad and honestly nobody is more pissed about it than me but I still laughed my ass off when I read that line.

I believe its possible that we beat Georgia. It could be similar to what happened in 2005 vs LSU. It would have been better if Georgia had won the bama game. Then we could have at least had the possibility of them overlooking us. It will now be incredibly difficult for us to win. Its not impossible but chances are slim.

Vols are going to have to shut the run down just like last year.Put all the weight on stafford.Going to have to play good special teams also. These keys just give the vols a chance to win and not a sure thing.

P.S. HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL.

I would love to win this game. It is going to be extremely tough, but it is possible. If you ask me, UGA has played one really good team this year and got hammered. SC should have beat them, but they just kept making mistakes and giving the game back to UGA. They just didn't have the offense to finish. However, looking at how we have played so far this year we don't look to stand much of a chance.

BTW, I bet Georgia comes out in the black jerseys again and they do the blackout one more time, not that it makes a difference. It will not be announced and hyped as it was against Bama. I think they kind of wished they had not done that.

Since Georgia got an off week to regroup, and they are going to have revenge on their minds based on the last 2 years, so I'm not seeing it. Plus they aren't doing a stupid blackout :)

Anybody who has watched college football for the last few years knows how unpredictable any given Saturday is. I'll be cheering the Vols the whole game. And I'll be really surprised if they manage to pull it off.

If Eric Berry or anyone else from back there would pitch in with a pick six, and Rogan breaks a kick or punt return for big yardage, I could see UT managing to score enough points to win a low scoring affair. 17-14 or something like that. If Tennessee wins, I think the defense will deserve much of the credit. I'd love to be proven a pessimistic fool though. Go Vols! :)

If we can score 3 touchdowns somehow (offense and/or defense) then i feel Tenn can win this game. I've not watched Georgia too much aside from the second half of the Bama game, so I am not sure how good their defense is. I don't think their offense is as good as it really looked in the second half. It seemed as though Bama felt they had the game won and didn't really play.

And Tenn HAS to contain Henderson on Punt/Kickoff returns. It seems that everytime a team has a highly touted kick returner (i.e. Brandon James, Henderson, Desean Jackson, etc) they end up returning a kick against tennessee. Its basically a free 6(7) points.

I think our run game will actually be a difference in this game. I look for Foster to have a decent game, but also for Hardesty to get more snaps and be a difference.

Tenn 24
Georgia 20

Not a chance on the black jersies. Those will be in storage for quite awhile.:ermm:

As long as Arian Foster is our "Starting Feature" back...we are going to suck at running the ball....How many times has he been caught from behind by a LB or lineman who started on the opposite end of the field....

If you really wanna get down and dirty...we havent had a running game since he as been the starter....he has however managed to grind out 3000 of the slowest yards ive ever seen a RB gain... the fact he "should" break the rushing record is about the only good thing to come out of it:bad:

Georgia will be pumped for this game and we can't run the ball, so while i like stephens, he can't do it all.

34-6 Georgia

The past two years we've OWNED them. Not only have I not been impressed with our play, but I haven't really been moved by the Dawgs. Georgia's wins have come over a D2 school in Ga Southern, Central Michigan (MAC), a Gamecock fumble, and an Arizona St. team with a losing record. Their only competition was a primetime, home game against Bama. They were down 31-0 at halftime and eventually lost. I'm not so scared of them. It'll take some work, but we can win this game!

Go V:rock:ls!
