Solving "men on the field" issue:

I am encouraged that this coaching staff sees the significance of giving Bray an opportunity to take the starting spot from Simms. It is vital that he is able to win the spot for the future of a quick turnaraound. If he is not the man who is going to lead the Vols into a competative future, then I'm afraid we're all in for a longer turnaraound than 2-3 years. Of course we do have Worley coming in next year to give us hope further down the road. Hoping Bray works out and then Worley can come in and seemlessly keep the big momentum going.

thought it was a worthwhile post myself.... I find it the first time I have agreed with him concerning his ability.....

:lolabove: True that, but at least he's honest. I hope he's the man to get things turned around because I really like him.

I agree with the Bray decision....but in the quote DOOLEY talking about the staffs inability to get 11 player on the field for a play and that is why he said they are not good enough coaches to get the job done.... I hate to admit it but I think he is right

“Hey, it’s what we got to do because we obviously aren’t good enough coaches to do it the other way. That’s a fact.”[/QUOTE]

Dooley made that comment about the substitution problems on field goal blocks. That wasn't about Bray.

Coach speak. Somewhere, somebody i screwing up when it comes to personnel. He's taking it on his shoulders like a good coach should do rather than throw somebody under the bus.

Didn't he accept responsibility after the first game in which this problem became evident?

you are right.... that is what the post is about as well... I am just amazed that we have a coaching staff that admit they are unable to count to 11

Ture, but the article started with a practice recap and some very encouraging quotes from Poole regarding Bray. At least one player seems to be lobbying for him to get some playing time.

I like he is taking ownership of the problem as a coach.

“I’ve always wanted to go pluck one, be aggressive,” Dooley said. “To do that you have to substitute people and get your best rushers, edge guys.

Nice try but don't even bother trying. If he would of called out the guys screwing up they would be all over him for that to, you can't win with some of these fans. I guess it's good they still care enough to *****!!

If not having 11 on the field is the worst thing that this coaching staff does, then it will be a great couple of years heading our way. If our players can get coached up the way that Alabama's players are, then it won't matter if we only have 9 guys on the field, we will still be able to dominate teams.

Yeah. Then he lit Wilcox up. Then he lit him up again a couple of times on the sideline. I can only imagine what he's doing behind closed doors.

You have to read through that comment a little bit. It is one of those situations where you say "we" but really mean "you". You can be all but certain that if he had been the DC there wouldn't have been one of those problems much less multiple. It is contrary to who he is.

the time has come... to start bray. at this point it doesnt even matter if Simms is out playing him... It will give this team something to look forward to , a breath of fresh air, people will come to Neyland to see Bray play, not Simms.

I love me some Bray.

Do you think he'll replace Wilcox at the end of the season?
