Consider Michigan. Their storied program has mirrored UT for a few years. They had a coaching carousel and finally got Harbaugh. The cupboard was bare. Skill positions were weak. There was no QB. It was late in the recruiting cycle and he was unable to build a great recruit class. They lost an early game to an unexpectedly strong Utah team.

Harbaugh didn't blame it on ANALytics. He didn't blame the players. He set out to make them better. He took personal direction of the QB and told players that if they wanted to play, they had to practice like they wanted to play. Then, if they get into the game and don't play hard they don't get continued playing time.

They killed a ranked BYU team and announced to the big 2 of their conference that they had to go through Ann Arbor to get to a conference title!

CBJ needs to swallow his pride and go get down on at least 1 knee and beg Peyton Manning to be his offensive coordinator! Jones is either unwilling or unable to adjust in today's SEC. It may be his only chance. Even top level recruits need coaches that can make them better.

No he doesn't, he needs to find a game plan, QB, and OL that can execute the passing game. Dormady gives us a better passing game than Dobbs, period. Dobbs will never beat you with his arm.

Dobbs will never beat anyone with his arm
As long as he is at UT. Somewhere else maybe. He runs wel enough to make his passing effective, but throwing 17 times a game won't beat anyone

The 4th down conversions by Fla were killers and 'Choke' Jones as the coach should never have let that happen....but he just finds a way to lose. Winners win...losers lose. Butch is the latter.

Butch would love this to be a long process. That's what he's selling to the boosters, alumni and fans. The gig is up. Every week he painstakingly outlines the reasons for us NOT to win..the excuses.

No guts. "It's a process of maturation" blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah.

Sickening. Less and lesspeople are buying it. This WAS a defining game for him. It defined him as just another choke artist who finds ways to lose.

We need a winner.

Peyton himself said he would not consider a co-ordinators job. He said he would MAYBE consider coaching QB's. I agree with Eric above and also, CBJ needs to keep his foot on the gas and not "play not to lose".

Butch promised us his teams would play 60 minutes of football and not play to lose, when he was hired. My how the times change.

Solution is simple but takes time...our best Oline are the backups, our best qb is the backup, we still have way too many freshman in the 2 deep on defense, including two starting lb's who are freshman.

Classic! If we would only play this person or that person things would be better. OP has it right - Harbaugh knows how to win or make the appropriate adjustments to win.

So does Manning - this coaching staff is incompetent as it relates to setting a direction and making the requisite adjustments within game time decisions. Butch needs to grab his clarinet and coach the Pride of the Southland.

Best thing for this program will be when we pull down a big name coach - until then we all have a decision to make: How long will you support this team further playing out Butch's contract.

If we were a creative group - we would start a kickstarter campaign to buy out Butch's contract.

First. step is to admit you screwed up. Quit talking about charts and analytics.

Tell the coordinators that if we lose from here out, it will be because we were too aggressive. If they can't/won't be aggressive, fire them.

Yup :birgits_giggle:

I agree why wait until you have nothing to play for - which is the MO of this staff.

Manning had to say that. He could not say he would consider a role that had just been filled without being an a$$hole and he doesn't do that. I think he would listen.

Solution is simple. Fire Dave Hart. Hire a competent AD. Fire this joke of a coaching staff. Hire a competent coaching staff.

Firing any or all is not a solution. There has to be a genuine plan to FIX the problem rather than recycle it.

The talent is there. You cannot coach scared. Look at the Utah or Michigan game. When they are winning, their opponent gets worse. When UT is winning, their opponents gain more and more confidence. Every game, the coach is just hoping they squeak by with a win. He is lacking confidence himself. You can see it in his face. He is hoping instead of knowing he can win.

Start Hall, Jones and Richmond... We have seen enough of Kendrick, kyberson and Weisman to know that they suck and will always suck...let the young players play this season ...

You are a straight out idiot (and for all I know just a troll). How can dobbs complete passes he doesn't get to throw. He literally never threw the ball more than 15 yards down the field yesterday. He doesn't call the plays. He's incredibly capable. They don't let him throw because they want to be safe and we had the lead

No question he struggles with the deep ball. The intermediate throws aren't that bad. But, the coaches have to let him throw it before we can determine he can't. It's painfully obvious they don't trust him to throw it.

Everybody banging on the coaches, particularly on the offensive side needs to look on the defensive side as well. I keep hearing we have all these NFL prospects, one of whom many of you swear
Is a First rounder, and they give up way too much in the 4th quarter. NFL prospects ought to make plays, and we don't make thm. We give thm up.

Beg to differ on this one sir. Dobbs has the ability to thrive in the passing game when given time to stand in the pocket. His mobility is the only saving grace for our less than average offensive line. Dormady would suffer greatly just like Worley last year. Also Dobbs is incredibly tough and a VFL.

This is it in the nutshell. I like Dobbs, but he has to develop the deep pass and our Offensive line has to pass protect better and pick up blitzes or Dobbs will not survive the season. Cliché or not we simply are young and developing. The talent from the last two recruiting classes is impressive but it will have to learn technique and scheme. The athleticism of Kirkland, Phillips and Turtle is very encouraging.
