I have noticed that the softball team now uses Rawlings bats and equipment instead of Worth. Does anyone know why they changed?

Worth and Rawlings are part of the same parent company. Last year the decision was made to discontinue use of the Worth brand in the fastpitch market.

All the Rawlings products you see are the same they would have been had the Worth name continued on. Only thing different is the label.

Rawlings bought Worth back in 2003. Two years ago, they decided to move all of their Division I contract baseball and softball teams to the Rawlings brand.

UT softball, along with Oklahoma and others, made the switch before the 2016 season.

You beat me to it by a couple of minutes.

To add on, Rawlings has positioned the Worth brand to be its men's slowpitch brand. There is a big market there and they're focusing on that.
