agreed...you know the game is going to have some substance. can't go wrong with the combination package

well i think i'm going to be idle on cod4 for a long time, mayb forever. socom is out and in less than a month cod5 is out

aight, so you go to the store and buy the disc, or disc and headset. i go to put it in, all it is is a downloader, the game is actually online, you have to download it, by the time you download everything it takes an hour - hour and a half.

it reminds me of the other socom games, same feel. completely diff than cod4. i know that since it came out the servers are pretty slow due to so many people being on. i didn't read the instructions on how to play i just jumped in. got frustrated bc i had no idea what i was doing. while completely diff, i enjoyed it. but i only played for about an hour, so not really enough to get a really good feel about it, but what i've played i enjoyed. like i said if you like the other socom games then you know what you are getting.

i have not played socom online. i played it maybe 3 times off line on ps2. i can't remember what it was like. i am thinking i probably wouldn't like it. i want that headset tho.

to me on ps2 socom was the greatest game. the offline game compared to the online game was completely diff. playing online is what made it fun. it's a diff pace, and diff type of game. won't hurt to give it a chance, i mean it's a month then cod5 will be out.

ya, but as far as i know, all you can play is online, like cod4. i enjoy it. you can snipe and create your own characters as far as gear. ex. head gear, glasses, camo, armor, the look of your character which is tight

how many matches did you actually play last night? once you are dead there is no respawning...right?

depends on what kind of match you get in. if you get in a medley then there is no respawning, but they have respawning matches. it's a diff type of deal than cod4. you go find a room, once you get in the room, you pick which kind of game you want to get in

also it's not like it's a one match and you are done deal. most matches are best of 7. either you play a plant the bomb type game, or which ever team kills the other team first, or you just play a time limit respawn and the team w/ the most kills wins. but it's the best of 7 matches.

i went and picked it up at lunch. won't get to play tonight tho. may be sunday night before i will even get to touch it.

rp did you get socom this wkend? its frustrating at first, the controls are diff. but i'm diggin it rt now

yeah. i have played it for an hour or so. i like it. they have major server issues tho. when they get that fixed, it will be alot better.
