So, who quit?!

Oh, you want to personally attack a life long fan now?

No, I want to highlight the logical errors of a lifelong fan who has apparently morphed into a conditional fan at some point.

If you consider it an attack, that's only because there's a sense of guilt associated with what I've said to you.

I'd personally prefer that he refuse to learn that lesson, and drag our program along with him. :good!:
Yeah, I'd prefer to make $1M a year too, but reality is where we are. I am not being a negaVol here contrary to what some of you are thinking. Just keeping it real. Not having fans show up to practice is not something he is used to. It's an easy fix.

Agreed, it is where we are. I don't think you're being unreasonably negative. There's a huge hill to climb before we can get back to competing for and winning championships. Acknowledging that hill exists doesn't make one a negavol.

Having said that, I'd still prefer if CJP never had to suffer a losing season, or in fact anything less than championship caliber football. Because that would mean great things for the Vols. Unrealistic, sure, but still it would be nice. :hi:

Ever had a coach or boss you didnt want to work for. You know, a real douche bag? Did it affect your performance? Ever had a coach or boss you loved to work for? Performance?

Part of a coaches job is to inspire and motivate players.

I don't think it's coaches job to motivate me. If he does his JOB (you know, the one he gets paid millions for) with the players then we'll know, and we'll come out and support the team. So far, he's said the team doesn't took inspired or motivated. Yet, I'm supposed to be? He's closed practice, allowed little access, took away fan meet and greet. And, when he has spoken it's been grumbling about effort. Who's doing good coach? "No one.". What's impressed you? "Nothing."

And then pops his head above ground 4 days before the spring game and says we need fans to come? Huh?? Then questions fans when they don't show. What?
And, im a snowflake and lose my fan card if I call bull **** on that?

Well, Fu#k you. He's dam lucky that so many people showed up considering the facts.

Dammed if I'm gonna applaud a bammer for this. I can't believe Vol fans.
Fwiw, I hope he motivates players. I hope he inspires players. But, I have no idea if he does. Based on the O&W game, the defense (his specialty) looked like an unmotivated **** show.

As long as coaches get paid millions, I'm going to place that on them, rather than applaud them for running off players. I'd be more convinced of his ability if he keeps players and turns them around, more so than running them off.

You are so wrong imo. Jeremy is the real deal, he is a football coach, plain and simple (it’s all the man knows). Those of you a bit squeamish may want to turn away for the next 12 mo.’s or so, as we need a “junction boys” retreat, and according to my buddies who know and played with Jeremy, seem to think we struck gold. These folks I reference know the game well, as they saw their own “tide” wonder aimlessly for the better part of two decades back in the 80’s - 90’s (with a stint of sunshine early 90’s under CGS)

Could the problem be, that even when playing their best, some Vol players appear to be quitting?:)

Thus the record setting 4-8 season?

when CJP first took over at his press conference he said it would take everyone ( all of us )to be invested in the program for it to be great again...
CJP knows what a winning program looks like and feels like....
I trust in CJP to bring us back to the top....
IF CJP hurts some feelings along the way then so be it...All will be forgiven with winning...

You know, you’re right. It’s all unicorns and lollipops, all those guys out there running around this spring, Pruitt just needs to understand them and feel their pain. He just needs some compassion and to let them develop at their own pace, and if they don’t and Tennessee wins 4 games again this year, well gosh darn it, nobody’s to blame cause, they’re all good kids and champions of life....hell, we don’t even know how many of them precious children have ever even been on an airplane before.

And who is he to not open up all the practices and let the world in to see what he and his staff are doing? The nerve of that BAMMER, right?

On s serious note, you’re getting a little too much in your feelings Alice. Nobody called called you a snowflake and nobody said anything about your “fan card”. I mean, you’re overreacting like a mf’er, but who cares, go ahead, knock yourself out...which includes you telling me to Eff off, just like your boy Lyle did, that sorry arse Michigander.

Bottom line is, Pruitt’s got a job to do and he’s getting paid a kings ransom to do it.....how about we give him more than an effing minute to do it?

I’d be willing to bet that probably 9 out of every 10 players on the team are fully bought in to Pruitt and his staff and are motivated and doing their best because they love the program and want win. I saw a tweet from one of the 9 the other day, I think it was Marquill Osborne....he simply tweeted “Coach Pruitt is a blessing”.

It’s that other 1 out of every 10 that Pruitt is rightfully talking about and they either gotta join the other 9 or gtfo...surely to God you can understand and agree with that.

Finally, we agree on one thing....Pruitt and company did a poor job hyping the O&W game at the last minute and then complaining that the stadium wasn’t full. But at the end of the day, I couldn’t give an ish one way or the other and I’m not gonna get on here and b**ch and moan about it because it doesn’t matter. They could have cancelled the whole damn thing and had another closed practice and I’d have been fine with it.

What matters is what he’s doing on the practice field, on the recruiting trail and ultimately on gameday and I’m gonna give him a chance to prove himself before I start acting like 13 year old girl dealing with her first menustration....even if he is a Bammer.

I'm ok with easing up on a hit... why take a guy out with an injury?

But if they just quit, no effort to close on a play, then yeah those guys need to rethink why they are even out there. JP might be over reacting a bit.

Now... I did see some video tape of the fans... way too many were talking on cell phones, taking selfies, and eating hot dogs. No fights observed, a lot of folks just sitting.

LOL!!!!

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

I mean, heck, it was the "spring" game...geez...thought it was supposed to be a little fun mixed in there somewhere...another good scrimmage with no significant injuries should've been the actual objective to me anyway...ok, it was me...I quit...:)

GO VOLS!

way too many were talking on cell phones,

What makes this very funny is I was one of them and I was trying to get on this site! Sprint is my carrier and even though it is 3 bars LTE in Neyland it is always garbage. I guess too many people trying to access the same tower. I spent most of the game trying to shrink my image size so I could post it and trying to get it to post. I ended up not adding an actual picture until I got home.

Does anyone else find their data is garbage in the stadium?

You're right. Ultimately what happens on Fall Saturdays is all that matters.
But, if it takes all, as he said, then you have to foster good will as well. He's never coached at a place with these challenges.
Insulting me doesn't change that.

KB,you're making me like more and more of your post. Well said.
I think a lot of people's problems are either he is from Bama or he is not the coach they wanted so they are not gonna give him time and rip apart everything he says and does. Now he may not be the coach we need but I'm gonna wait and see what happens at least till some games get played before I wanna get rid of him.

I live in Atlanta but was actually considering making the trip for the spring game. I decided not to go because sadly after last season, I have become a bit melancholy toward football and made other plans.

Pruitt was speaking to me. Do I blame him? Nope. Not at all.

It is honestly refreshing to be called out. For once we have a coach that expects the best and holds people accountable. That is exactly what we need. Fans like myself included. Bravo coach

Nice.

Instead of getting all butt-hurt over being called out (I'm in that group as well), I came to the same conclusion.

This coaching change to CJP et al may be the first honest opportunity to put this program into an elite status since...whenever. :p

Ah, I see. The fact I did not attend makes me a lazy ass fan. Has zero to do with the fact my health is ****. And I'm sure others had legit reasons as well, but then, they're just lazy ass fans as well. There's this thing called life and it tends to get in the way sometime but that never seems to stop judgmental pricks.

Weezer, for the folks like the one you are responding to, Vol football is life. Or at least they want the rest of us to think so.

That's the ticket. Posting is everything. If you had stayed home you could have sent you pictures and texts with no problem. God forbid not being able to send pics real time. To hell with the game, (such as it is) gotta post real time. Guess you are one of the many posting, ect. real time while driving or on the job.
