So who is more reliable? Basilio or Wes Rucker?

Basilio hands down. Rucker has a jones for Dooley. Basilio is prone to throw some crap out there but watch him with this coaching thing he'll be way out in front of Rucker and others. Rucker may hear things but wont report it for fear of getting cut off by the UTAD. Basilio doesnt care. That is part of Basilio's MO

Well, Basilio is just a fan of the vols who has a radio show and blog. I don't doubt he's connected with people within the organization so if there is smoke and Tony B says there is a fire, then i believe him.

Rucker is just a beat writer who has sources as well, and isn't paid to speculate. He is paid to report facts.

With all that said, I'm going with Tony on this one.

I'd also like to add that Swain and Rucker is about as bad as it gets for sports radio. No offense to swain.

Swain has grown on me in the past year, he's good on Ainge's show. He must think Rucker is a total tool.

Rucker is absolutely horrible. Awful, unlistenable radio. Just pathetic.

Tony is very entertaining. Not sure any of them are super credible.

Now, here is what Wes Rucker says according to fan who listens to the radio:

the powers that be at UT will accept 7-5 this year for Dooley because of the buyout situation, but if he loses to Vandy or UK he is done.

I also have read a while back that Rucker believes that getting Gruden is unrealistic.


So which is it? Is Basilio right about the guys not responding to him, cause I read there was a team meeting and they were upset about the possibility of losing their coach.. Is Gruden a possibility? Do we stay the course if we beat Vandy/Kentucky/Troy and Missouri?

It's Rucker. He wont say something unless he can find out it is true. Basilio is a fan like the rest of us, and will spout out fiction from time to time. Basilio for entertainment and Rucker for facts. Kind of....

Seems to have cooled on his earlier view that gruden was going to be th coach. Now says 60% chance. That's what we call hedging your bets. No matter what happens, he's safe from too much ridicule. Must be nice to say whatever one wants and then to slowly back off with no consequences and no accountability.

Wonder if Lovie is interested..
