So who exactly is our Tight End in 2020?

It isn't like losing DWA is losing a lot. I respect DWA and am glad he was a Vol, but it wasn't as if other defenses had to prepare for him. My guess is of Jackson Lowe, Sean Brown, and Jacob Warren, at least one of them will be able to replace if not outperform DWA. I'm most excited about Jackson Lowe personally. He was the number 12 rated TE by 247 in 2019.

Pope? Fant? Jacob Warren?

Is it just me or do we seem ill prepared for this role in 2020?

Of all the roles to seem “ill prepared for” this is probably the least significant. The staff likes Lowe was my understanding last year. Pope is obviously a good blocker. But if I’m rating the 22 positions TE is somewhere around 22nd in terms of importance.

Fant has seemed out of position the whole time he's been here. Warren, is he the one with the string of injuries in HS? Pope is serviceable as a blocker. Lots of mysteries at TE, even the two RS FR. Coaches are gonna have to roll the dice and see if someone takes the lead. I expect a heavy rotation at TE with Pope getting a majority of the reps where a blocker is needed. Not sure who steps up in that current group.

I think you’ll see us a lot more spread out, 4 wide. Bunch of added speed in the slot with guys like Jones Jr, Calloway, Hyatt. Less 11 personnel, definitely fewer 2TE sets.

The TE position needs a reliable QB that can get the ball down the field. It's been awhile since we've had that. Probably going to be another year .

Got to have a QB who can hit the TE when they are wide open. Until the QB position is fixed, the last thing we need to worry about is who is the TE
