I haven't seen an updated poll to as who people want as the coach since Fulmer took over as AD. Maybe I just missed it and I'm sorry. But. Who do you want? I'm listing what I consider realistic options. So no Gruden, sorry Grudenites. I put Kiffin on the "pole" (Never gets old) although I don't think its likely. But still not as impossible as Gruden.

If they all say no:

I say Les Miles or Kevin Sumlin but with the caveat that we get Tee as OC and Steele or Chief as DC. Les’s Offense sucked pretty bad those last few years in the Bayou and we’ve had enough of that.

A coach who wants to be at Tennessee!

Amen to this.

I have no expertise to judge. I just want one that will love this program like we do and that will win. Our fans deserve better than the garbage we have gotten over the past years and especially since the Schiano/Currie debacle came to light.

I would at least give Gary Patterson a phone call to see if he's interested. Otherwise, here's my top list of realistic candidates.

1. Les Miles -- The man knows what it takes to win in the SEC and can potentially tap into the recruiting in the talent-rich Louisiana area. Also, he has won multiple NC's and would be a very "Philip Fulmeresque" hire.

2. Tee Martin -- Really enjoyed watching his offense during the PAC 12 championship game and would bring an exciting brand of football back to Tennessee. Also, given the trend of alma mater coaches having success (Kirby Smart, James Franklin, etc.), he would undoubtedly understand what it takes to be great at Tennessee.

3. Mike Norvell -- Hiring him would essentially be hiring Justin Fuente 2.0. Justin Fuente essentially learned his entire offensive scheme from Mike Norvell at Arizona State that he used at Memphis and is now using at VT. Memphis has an excellent offense and puts up huge numbers despite having lost talent to the NFL. His defense is questionable however.

Other: Chris Peterson

IMO you have to make him say no. Best coach in America not named Saban/Meyer/Swinney. Has the makeup to be the best with all the resources UT has. Probably have no shot at him, but he’s my pick if I’m AD.

I’m with you. Of course I want a big name. Who doesnt i also want a VFL on the sidelines and sitting with recruits in their living rooms. Its time for brighter days.
