So, where are you now emotionally regarding Offensive Line?

5. Faith in coaches to figure it out, resigned that it probably won't be stellar, hoping it's just solid.

actually looking forward to seeing how much they have improved. expect some improvement out of all those returning. doesn't mean they are All-SEC but should be improved. Need them to all stay healthy

after a 12 hour shift on 3rd and 3 yuenglings down the hatch so far, I'm just sittin here thinking "we gonna whiiii" nope nevermind too cliche. On second thought the best things I've heard so far on the boards is the opposing defenses this year will not be able to just pin their ears back and speed rush us this year like they did the first half of last year. Being involved in a strength and conditioning program myself in the past, I know how much strength can be gained over one summer with appropriate dedication and nutrition...with that being said I know what I went through is nothing compared to what these boys have done and will continue to do so I'm sure they have gained a ton of strength and their technique could have only gotten better, no worse. I expect the O-line to still be the weak link and give up "some sacks" but not nearly as atrocious as last season.

Concerned Oline will limit Vol's ability to win close games, time will tell.

Da frick is that word?

Seriously, probably 2. It would be 3 if Coleman Thomas wasn't starting at tackle. No offense but goodness gracious 😖

I think that our defense is going to make our offense look great. I feel sorry for whatever team thinks they are going to run up the middle on that D-Line. Maybe the edges but not the middle. I was worried about that Arkansas game but since their top rusher went down for the year I am not as worried about them anymore.

I think the O-Line is going to surprise a lot of people this year.

I'm on your bus! I also like the way you just added another option!

Similar to what JTK did to the Kobayashi Maru! (yeah i'm a little bid of a nerd)

going on....I think we will be better...if not at the very least b/c of another year in the wight room, film room, practices, and Debords experience(hopefully). But another poster was right...we will be ok if we can make most of the 3rd and 3's and 4's against OK, Misou, ugfa, etc.

3. You know they won't be great but they will be better and nothing but time can correct it.

I'm 3. Mildly concerned - It's the one position group that seems to be holding us back. My hope is that the guys in this position group know that and use that as motivation. Having a mobile QB is also a plus.

4. No worries. I have complete faith in the staff.

If you are looking for a sign on where it is, you need look no further than Kendrick being moved from tackle to guard.

Just my opinion, but coaches do not make this move, if they are uncomfortable with how the tackles are progressing. This tells me that Kerbyson, Thomas, Blair, Richmond and Boulware are performing well enough to make Kendrick expendable to help out at guard with Robertson and Jones out for a few more days. It also gives DeBord and Mahoney a little more experience and talent at guard and perhaps frees up Robertson to move to center when he returns.

I don't understand how anyone that watched the oline play last year can help being concerned. I expect them to be better and having Dobbs at QB all year should help. The question is how much better will they be? Can they protect Dobbs long enough for him to have a shot at the deep ball? Can they open holes for what has the potential to be a great running attack? This season pretty much rides on them.
