So when will starting QB be named ?

As I posted in another thread, the week of the 23rd is supposed to mimic a game week. Same rhythm and approach so they can get used to it, especially since the first actual game week is abbreviated. The normal approach in that setting would be to know who your starting QB is. In light of this upcoming week being a pseudo-game week, I think they'll name a starter and give him the majority of the reps, just like would be done in season. Expect it to be announced, or just to start happening, this Monday at the latest.

Was at a Michigan fan’s house last night. Said Milton is trash. Hopefully it’s sour grapes.

He did some good and some bad. Sometimes he makes throws he has no business making, but he is an upgrade over JG.

OP, I think probably by the end of this week but I have no way of knowing for sure. JH doesn't seem like he wants it to go into game week.

So damn classless to call players "trash" and "garbage." That applies to all fan bases.
I agree. I should’ve used quotes so ppl would know those aren’t my words. I asked what he thought about Milton. He hesitated for a couple seconds and said, ā€œHe’s trashā€.

I’m not expecting him to be a world beater. Just hoping he’s better than JG and does some things to showcase Heup’s coaching ability

Sorry man, I didn't mean to imply that about you at all. I was just making a general statement.

I wonder what UF fans said when Newton left? Or tOSU fans when Burrow left?

In complete honesty, Milton wasn't very good at Michigan. But he has tremendous physical ability and according to most reports has worked hard to learn and operate Heupel's O. UT has three good options so I'm really not afraid of him failing.

The thing that gives me the most hope about Milton is the fact that he was being coached by Harbaugh at Michigan and will be coached by Heupel here. Perhaps he was just a misfit at Michigan and now that he’s in a proven system that thrives with mobile QBs he will explode. We’ll see.

I’m cautiously optimistic about him, based on physical tools and the system he’s in, but if he doesn’t protect the ball and make the right reads those things won’t matter.
