Because we suck. Plain and simple. We have the worst secondary in football. Its embarrassing. But man we are so much better now that Fulmer is gone. At least we are not mediocre.

Good point. At least we have a small prayer of winning more than 5 every other year.

Rebuild? Give me a break. We may be wishing that we were at least mediocre in 5 yrs. If we win five this year it will be a miracle. Its dam embarrassing.

Why must we start a new thread every week by someone who wasn't even at the game?

This! Seasoned fans understand this game more than you might. Traffic is a bear and when the hand writing is on the wall, they are in their cars heading to the Pike...free and clear of the mess that is coming. Pretty basic stuff really.

Actually, on TV, it looked as if the stadium was 80% full at the end of the game.

Don't know what game you were watching but with 6 or 7 minutes to go with the ball and down 14 and 3 timeouts, the fans were leaving and the commentators pointed it out.

And for those who say, "It's easy saying that, sitting in my recliner"..... I can't help it I had to work today. I've been to blowout wins, losses, and close games. I think a team that is this depleted that gave their all for UT today should've had the fan support and the ones who were in the stadium were "real fans" because they appreciated the effort this week. Dooley faced a culture problem and that was not only one of bad character but one that when faced with adversity just quit. Guess what, in a week he had that same team that quit the last week out there working their butt off.

Yes, the fans should be upset with losing and all that has went on for this program. But Dooley and his coaching staff and those players on that field today are not responsible for the lack of depth, the coaching changes, and the crap they have had to deal with over the past 3 years. So to basically turn our backs on guys like Chris Walker, Nick Reviez, etc... is disgraceful. Like it or not, we as fans play a big part in recruiting and are the reason a lot of kids want to play for UT. Yet, we as a fan base cannot unite behind a guy (no matter if you agree with the hire or not) and cannot unite behind this team to show how much we care about this University, but we complain that our program is not getting on track fast enough.

Be happy with what has went on for the last 10 years? No, but at least show Dooley, his staff, and these players who have been dealt a bad hand what TN Fans are all about. Whether you want to believe it or not, this program is in good shape starting next year. However, the culture change, the attitude change, and winning in the future will be decided this year because dealing with adversity unites a team especially when they began to have depth and talent comparable to the rest of the SEC.

For those wondering why I think the future is so bright here and are not big following recruiting, here is my post on why I think we are in great shape starting next year and especially in 2011.

This class may not be ranked the highest but it will be the best class UT has had in a long, long time if we get Richardson and Clear. People may accuse me of having orange colored glasses on but Randolph will be the best defensive player we get this year and that's not a knock on anyone, it's because Randolph is one of the top 10 DBs in this class. Rivals says otherwise because of an injury last year, but that kid is a star.

People get so mad at me because I think the future is bright.

Yet, they don't realize we have two guys that will be lock down corners for 2 more years after this year (Gordon and Teague). We have Walls and Hughes at DT next year with guys like Miller, Jeffery, Saulsberry and then Carson, a JUCO guy, and 1 of Wright/Johnson/Gosha/Bell.

DE- Jackson, Martin, Smith, Miller, Parker, and whoever else we get in this class
Then at LB we return everyone except Reveiz and probably will land A.J. Johnson. In Reveiz spot, Austin Johnson will go.

At the safety position, we have Janzen Jackson and then Randolph/Martin/Loften/Waggoner/Brewer at the other one.

QB- Bray and Worley
RB- Poole/Oku/Neal/Williams
WR- Hunter, Rogers, Milton, Rogers, and possibly Arnett and Dallas.
TE- Clear, Power, Rivera
OL- James, Thomas, Stone, Fulton, Gooch, Schofield, Pair, Pope, Kerbyson, Crowder, Posey, and hopefully Richardson.

I know this is long but how can I not get excited when I actually see good depth and talent starting across the board next year.

Yeah it was pretty full. Better than last week because the team was still into it. I left with 1:30 left. I thought we were pretty out of it by that point.

Although I have to question your fanhood, I saw you get up to make a sandwich after that Poole fumble...

Team didn't quit but the fans once again did! Neyland is half full.

BS. Fans yelled all day. Players let the fans down
* Interception in the end zone
* Kickoff out of bounds
* Fumble after a huge gain in the 4th quarter
* Poor coverage on the kickoff; tack a facemask onto that
* Interception at your 30
* Poor play on fake punt.
* Mistake, mistake, mistake

Players let the fans down, as usual.

Haha! I'm very superstitious during games so when we do something good I stay seated in the same spot until we do something bad and then I switch spots. I just wish we could be unified as fans instead of all the bashing. Yes, we have had a bunch of crap go wrong for us. However, we as fans no matter if we agree with the hiring of Dooley or not should embrace him and the players.
