now I know its not "traditional" and stuff, but in stead of the regular ole 'ooooohhhhhhhhhh, boooooom!" during kickoff what if we did the regular "oooohhhhhh" build up and when he kicks it the crowd chants, "V-O-L-S GO VOLS GO!" on at least the opening kick-off when the crowd is the most hype. ive always thought it would be sick. Anybody got connections to Butch so we can get word around?

and whatever happened to the, one side of the stadium yells "Rocky", and the other yells "Top" after first downs on last years orange and white game? it had a lot of negative feedback on social media but I kind of liked it.

...I know, I know, its off-season, im bored

My brother came up with yelling "TENNESSEE" after the ooohhhhhhh boom.

"Ooooohhhhhh boom .......TENNESSEE" it's great even at away games, there is usually a moment where the crowd settles down right after the boom. And I like yelling TENNESSEE on the road.

Yes, I know it's not grammatically correct, but neither was "How 'bout them Vols"--and I always loved that. Colloquial appeal.

I like it too.

I also like "Ohhhhhhhhhhh.......no....The Sky is Falling". Seems appropriate for many posters on VN.

I say we just make noise very loudly!

Edited: Bad fingers and the Y and W are not even close to each other on the keyboard!

This gimmick is not a bad idea. I could back it. Have whoever sends the seating for the Neyland checker pattern out to communicate this new tradition. They are effective communicators

Definitely! I still find it hard to believe that first checker pattern was pulled off! The power of the internet and social media is real!

On kickoffs instead of the crowd saying "ohhhhhhhhh" we yell "Goooooooo" then right as the kickers foot hits the ball we yell either "Vols!" or "Big Orange!"

I've always been in favor of a first down chant. I personally liked the "Rocky Top" chant. But what I like better than that is what lots of people have said. The PA announcer says "and that's a first and.." And the crowd yells "Tennessee"

I think the whole crowd should go absolutely silent for the kickoff, and then right before the ball reaches the return man, the whole stadium lets out one loud, brief scream.

I like the idea but by the time we get to "S" Evan will be in the end zone!!!

On Kickoffs, Vol fans stand holding up V-O-L hand sign.....chanting in unison......Ggggoooooooo...
(When ball is kicked)......Vols, go!.....

On first downs, Jarnigan says:
" thAts good for another First And...."
Crowd responds in unison:
"Ten.....ness...eeeee!"

I used to like the Rocky Top singing when it was just 'Good ole Rocky Top...Rocky Top Tennessee" in the old days as opposed to "Good ole Rocky Top....WHOOOOOO...Rocky Top Tennessee". I hated the "Whooooo". My brother in law a Florida fan... (and Wisconsin fan...and whatever fan...basically he's a pathetic front runner guy) anyway...the "Whooooo" thing drives him nuts and irritates him. So now....I like it. Keep on 'Whooooing".
