How secure is CCM's job at that point?

Before you say it's not likely, just look at this season as a whole. Many ups and downs.

An extension is in order or it will hurt his recruiting efforts. That is wrong. Big difference between fan expectations and realistic expectations. His overall win percentage is good. And who determined that these players would be world beaters? Just curious.

All the experts...Have u not seen the press written about our team? We are also the favorite tomm in a game vs a sixth seed.

Can you think of anybody that would replace him. He secured next year before the season was over IMO.

The only way he leaves this year will be to take another job elsewhere. You better hope he stays because if he does not it would set the program back.

He is also running a disciplined program with not a lot of academic issues. Will be here 3 to 5 more years, unless he takes a job somewhere else.

I would say there is about a 0.01% chance he would be fired

That's generous imo. The only way he's leaving after this season is if they make a run in the tourney and a better school comes knocking

3 year extension...IMO. Too much or just right?

Will probably be the number of years offered. Reasonable. Anything less just programs him for failure and assumes responsibility for it if it happens.

NB4 "so if we lose to Duke"

If we beat U Mass then play Duke we can give them trouble. I do not think Duke can handle Mayman and Stokes. These games are also going to come down to guard play. If Barton playes good we can go a long ways.

Got by on talent alone IMO.. Some of the worst in game coaching I've ever seen.. If we don't start recruiting better fast, we are screwed.

3 weeks ago 95% of UT fans wanted Pearl to replace him So, no, I'm not kidding. This team has still underachieved to this point.

OK, They underachieved, Past tense.

They have an opportunity at this time to overachieve. Maybe they overachieve at the right time. I would rather underachieve during the season, and still make the Tourney than to sit at home or maybe the NIT.

Did they underachieve against Florida or Iowa?

Maybe they will Overachieve at the right time and make some noise.

Not much can be done about Pearl, we may be able to hire Stevie away from Auburn if you want a Pearl here.

I'm happy we won, but Martin has rode about as favorable schedule as possible the last few weeks. He'll probably win tomorrow, lose to Duke and get an extension for winning two games in the tourney. He still has major deficiencies as a coach and there are much better options out there for us. Unfortunately, he will still be the UT coach for the foreseeable future and we will continue to get mediocrity from his coaching.

You guys seem to forget how close we were to losing that game and this being a different converation.

We had more talent and the best player (Stokes) on the floor. I still think next year is the measuring stick and he will obviously be here. For better or worse.

I hope for Cuonzo's sake Stokes comes back. Dont think Pops is gonna cut it in the post.....

I think we win 70 - 63.
