So we've heard 3rd Down For What for the last time this year, do we keep it next year

Trash it, all it really does is make the fans dance...they need to get loud quicker instead of dancing like a bunch of bafoons

I Agree we need more band more specifically drum play... OU has a bad ass drum line.. It's more a tradition than this rap music

Next year will be foreigners song "feels like the first time" to "feels like a first down"

Oh, dear God, no... Truly one of the worst songs by one of the worst bands ever.

Would the fans all be required to waggle their hands over their heads and sway?

I think this is the only season we'll have it. The song is old. But, it wouldn't surprise me if we have a new 3rd down song next year, or if Lil Jon makes something for us to use next year.

I'm for almost anything getting our insomnia fans off their butts, but by the 4th qtr Im getting over it. I don't need a DJ to tell me we're on "D" and the fans need to be loud as hell, especially on 3rd down.

I like the idea of an iconic audio signal to remind the fans to get loud on 3rd Down. However, the "3rd Down for what" is too long, too trendy, and becomes cringe-worthy after a few 3rd downs.

One particular 3rd down signal that I think is perfect is used by the Minnesota Vikings. A loud "Viking Horn" sound engulfs the crowd on defensive 3rd Downs. We could incorporate something similar.

My suggestion:

An authenticly recorded Smokey "howl"

Any other ideas?

I think it's good to have something to get the crowd going on 3rd down. I'm just hoping for something different next year. 3rd down for what has run it's course IMO.

I think CBJ will let the team have some input here. It was fun but got a little stale last night when we were wearing down in the 4th quarter. New song would get my vote that I don't have.:)

GO VOLS!!!

Some of you are too young to remember I'm sure, but they used to have a sound bite that said "Sic 'em Smokey" and then a loud blue tick howl that followed. I loved that.
