What was the bashing you're referring to in the Blair thread? The only thing I saw were people saying he's turned out to be a bust so far.

Actually, Butch seldom (if ever?) says we have the "best" fans in America. I always hear him saying we have the most "passionate" fans. I believe he chooses "passionate" to say he expects to hear the good, the bad, the classless and the stupid. Lord knows, we have it all on this board.

This. I think Reader may have a different definition of bashing. Negative performance reviews do not equal bashing in my mind.

Quit getting your panties in a wad over message board comments. Just my two cents. Literally every message board that's about a major college football program will have bashing. Period. Get over it. If any college kid even read these sites, I doubt any are going to get their feelings hurt over it. And if they do, they need to stop giving a **** what a stranger on a message board thinks. Simple as that.

Don't see many people "bashing" them. I have negative comments about Blair and North...is that allowed? They're both not very good.

Cry for me OP...it's an anonymous message board and people are allowed to have opinions.

True, I don't know anything about his situation, if there is one at all. But I'm not saying cut the kid and take away his scholarship. He's earned that fair and square. It's his.

All I'm saying is that if he does decide to go elsewhere, as has been posted (prematurely, if not inaccurately), then I would be good with that. He has not lived up to his billing. There is no denying that. We've all been waiting for Godot. If that were to happen and free up another scholarship -- this year or the next -- I think that is a positive trade-off for our football team.

Criticism is not elitism.

I think there is a fine line between a meaningless, funny post about a player and going after them personally and it is fairly easy to tell which is which. Never a good look to bash a guy giving 100% at a game.

Clay Travis and Dumb do belong in the same sentence. Every single fan base in the SEC with a following like UTs will have some fans that bash players. By the way CLAY TRAVIS CAN GO TO HE11.

I like to think that Blair would have a chance to find his way onto the field next year after two full seasons here, but if he's not been able to do it this far, it may be a long shot. I personally hope he sticks around but if he decides it's best for him to leave, I can't blame him.

You actually said he was not a valuable member of the UT football team. Repeating that he's a bust is also pretty useless

1) He is a good candidate for 'first player off the bus'

2) Also, impressive to send out for coin tosses

3) By mid-season, he could lose his black stripe

There are extreme fans/posters on both ends of the spectrum. Singling out one side makes you no different than the ones you are criticizing, IMO.

What's the extreme of the other side? Negavols? I haven't seen many serious ones. They just get called that for having any negative opinion.
