So tell me about Cameron Tatum

No, I think you are a moron because you don't think adding two extremely athletic wings will help with rebounding.

The lineup you said would probably be our starting lineup if we had a traditional style of offense. That is not a moronic thing to say, I just think it is very unlikely that you will see that lineup very often with our run-n-gun style.

All I know is that I post Hatvol96 line up and you call me a moron for thinking that line up could fit in our offense. So you are really officially on the record of calling Hatvol96 a moron.

Read this post below. I did not call you a moron because of that lineup. That is a solid lineup but a lineup with 2 sings fits our offense/press better. I pointed out why I called you a moron in the first part of this post.

I didn't call you anything.

The easiest way to improve our rebounding is to use a true center. Chism has shown that he will never be a dominant center. That's why Pearl has signed a true center the past 2 years.

Well maybe you are right. Now that I think about it Donovan was stupid to use that line up for 2 years in a row. Horford and Noah should have never been in the game at the same time. I guess you could say that was "moronic" to use two bigs to "run and gun".

I never said you called me anything. Where in my post did I say that?

Increasing your athleticism and team height will improve your rebounding as well. Especially since that improve height and athleticism will be replacing two of our shorter player and one of our least athletic players.

If Billy D was our coach then the lineup you/hat suggested would probably be our lineup. I have already said a couple of times that if we ran a traditional offense that we would probably see that lineup a lot. But Billy D is not our coach and we do not use a traditional offense. Bruce is our coach and a lineup with two athletic wings is important in his up tempo style of play and is very important in his full court press. Having Tyler, Wayne, and B-Will starting also leaves our bench pretty scarce of serviceable post player.

I know it's hard but please try and comprehend what I am saying this time.

Every game he's played as a Vol. I'm not showing no disrespect towards Chism at all. He's developing a very nice turn around jumper, but I think he would play better going toward the basket at the 4. From what I've seen from here when playing with BW in the game, Chism is much more natural at the 4 and would only make him a better player.

I understand completely what you are saying, but just disagree with it. We are extremely weak on the boards. We lost the SEC championship because we got man handled rebounding by Ark. We are not playing tomorrow because we're one and done on our shots yestersay. If we can not rebound then we can not win championships. Yeah you can improve rebounding with larger wings but you're not going to rule the paint and win championships without a good center. American University out rebounded us. I think that's enough to prove my point.

I've seen FL play many games, and I'm pretty sure they are a running team. They did pretty good. I wonder if Pearl would have used Noah and Horford in the game at the same time?

The development of the bigs (they were all still young this year) and improved athleticism and size at the wings will improve the rebounding to a team that already normally out rebounded their opponents(1 game is a tremendously small sample size. We shouldn't get out rebounded by American but stuff happens some times). It will also improve the press tremendously and cause more turnovers. I'll take a forced turnover turning into an easy bucket over a defensive rebound any day of the week.

I see what you are saying about Florida but that is a completely different situation. Florida does run but anywhere near as much as we do and they do not press like we do. And comparing Chism and B-Will to two lottery picks is a little unfair to our guys.

Putting Tyler, Wayne, and B-Will all in the starting rotation leaves Crews and Chilldress on the second string. I'm sorry but no one wants to see that.

IMO having a 2 deep rotation of...
Smith/West
Hopson/Tabb
Tatum/Prince/Woolridge
Smith/Crews
Chism/Williams
... is a much more athletic, talented, deep and balanced lineup than...
Smith/West
Hopson/Tatum/Tabb
Smith/Prince/Woolridge
Chism/Crews
Williams/Childress

That is strictly looking at the 2 deep. Pearl uses the second string regularly so having that second string set up as you suggested will open up for the opposing team to absolutely dominate us on the inside. Your lineup also makes a jam for playing time at both the wing spots.

vkb has been spot on throughout the whole thread. Unless Bruce has suddenly decided to move to a traditional style of basketball, a starting lineup up West/Ramar, Hopson, Tatum, Tyler, and Chism would fit our style perfectly. Our press would be dominating to opponents. We would also be extremely athletic. Every man in that lineup can handle the ball. It's definitely an exciting projection.

I was the one who said that lineup first. Harumph

Prince will be a starter next year. And everyone will take back all the bad stuff they say about him. Wait and see. He will be THE player on this team before he graduates.

Unless he develops any kind of jumpshot whatsoever he will never be THE player.
