So now what do we do with Steele?

Don't know.

I do know what I'd try first, if I were in CJH's shoes: Chief Defensive Analyst, responsible for leading the crew that game plans for upcoming opponents' defenses, breaks down film for study by our offensive coaches and players, prepares the scout team defense to emulate that opponent, and reverse-engineers their defensive playbook for use by our coordinators.

He'd be, by hundreds of thousands of dollars, the highest-paid analyst in the college ranks--and quite possibly the most qualified ever. Heh.

That's what I'd go with.

Per his contract, he cannot hold an analyst position and must be an asst coach. I was incorrect in prior post (thread) so he will not be on staff at UT. AD waiting and hopeful Steele lands a job elsewhere to void Ut contract.

Oh, there have been coaches paid a whole lot more than that to coach in zero games.

Remember that fella who was going to be head corch at Bama, but never made it to the first game because one of the hookers stole his university credit card after a night of debauchery?

That's six months of high pay, fun and coke in exchange for zero game time. :)

Mike only made about 350k for his time at Bama, and he at least coached spring practice. So he was much more cost effective than Steele, but infinitely more embarrassing.

Always forget about Price lol

And let's pay Fulmer another sweetener to his buyout.....just because.

Workin like heck!!!😎😎😎
I’d pay semi big money for someone to go to the Shoneys Big Boy restaurant on Alcoa Highway and paint Phil’s head on it. That Shoneys is his go to favorite place. He deserves a statue there.

There was a Shoneys in Clarksville on Riverside drive. Was there for at least 30 years. Not sure if it still is. My grandpa went there all the time. He'd drive from Houston county all the way there.

When is the last time anyone saw a program pay around 1.8 million dollars to 2 coaches ( Brumbaugh and Steele ) to coach in 3.5 games and zero games respectively?

Absolutely ridiculous. The degree of mismanagement is off the charts in the UTAD. I pray its more sensible under White.

With Butch gone, Saban needs a new gopher and car wash boy.
Laugh, but I’ll bet you that’s where he ends up. This is where the media ought to be doing an expose. How Steele gets hired during a hiring freeze, while an internal investigation lingers.

UT made a mistake but cutting him lose immediately. At least he might have been able to get a job and mitigate the contract. But, no.

Quality Control coach or student athlete activities advisor.
No new HC would keep anyone on his staff who knifed the last HC he worked for in the back in hope of being his replacement (Gus at Auburn). Pay whatever it takes and get rid of him. CJH shouldn't and wouldn't trust him.
