really...in the past 2 years..how many top 25 teams has Tennessee beat and how many has Boise St Beat?

alot of people on this board are not that high on Peterson, maybe bc/ they're just not sure of a coach from the west coast, with no recruting ties in the south, moving from a joke of a conference to the top conference in the country, coaching and recruiting against these star-studded coaches here.........

Personally, I think he would be excellent, an up and comer for sure..........But I don't care who we get, as long as he puts us back on top of the map......or at least on the map for starters

that is some of what they said about Meyer..he takes Utah to the BCS and wins..2 years with Fla and he wins a NC...posed to do it again.
why not Chris Petersen?
sure he has only been a HC in Div 1 for 3 years...but in that 3 years he has only lost 3 games...been to the BCS AND was the OC FOR THE TEAM HE NOW COACHES AND WON A LOT OF AWARDS FOR BEING OC OF THE YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HE HAD A HAND IN RECRUITING AND HELPED THE UNDEFEATED TEAM HE COACHES NOW!!!!!

I agree with you 100%.........I think to get a young up and comer, ala CUM would be great.......then, it would be winning time again in TN...........

True...VERY true.
I just wish we would get more Boise ST games to watch here than what we get...Then people would see how exciting collage football can be......any time Boise St is on...I record it on my DVR.....it is unreal the way they play.

I don't think people really fully realize how REDICULOUS it was when they beat Oklahoma in the bowl game......Oklahoma was loaded with 4 and 5 star players from Texas, and Boise State had mostly 2 star and a few 3 stars, from who-knows-where.....

When they pulled off 2 insane trick plays to pull out the win, it was like David defeating Goliath..........TN can't even run a screen play this year........

We get a good coach in, and it's winning time next year........

I say take a chance on him, there is only way this program can go, and that is up. We are sitting at the bottom of the SEC. Bring on Chris Peterson, could be the answer we need. Let the AD throw some money his way and see if he bites.

Those numbers are against mid major non BCS team,except Oregon,who has a PAC 10 defense...looks to me like against the better competition,the scoring slows signifigantly

Not trashing the guy but really...is his "scheme" better than ours?Remember ,Tennessee put 42 on UAB..so against Non BCS teams..we are scoring also..

did urban meyer have a recruiting base when he came in? I hope that you guys don't go after someone like Peterson and promote Chavis; that would be great for the rest of the SEC-E

I don't think that Boise State offense would work in the SEC. I feel like I'm watching Maryville High School's offense when I see them play. Stuff like that is okay for beating teams like Colorado State...but it won't work against Florida and Georgia.

You may be right, but I heard the same thing said numerous times about Urban Meyer's offense.

I think Petterson would be a great hire, but I don't see Tennessee going after Petterson. He is to far from what is Football tradition at Tennessee. I would love it if we did though.
