So Much For Hostess-gate

I am not going to name names but can we block posting privileged for some who get on here and panic and/or post nonsensical information every time on of these kids passes gas.

You know..this makes no sense whatsoever. He was as solid as could be until this hostess gate situation....HE was part of group who has the NCAA sniffing our leg.

I remember seeing a photo on here shortly after a visit and the one blond hostess (L. Pearl?...not sure what her name is) was really inclined upon his lap all chummy-like...too chummy. I felt then that they were really pushing things, and that sort of interaction was not good for our program. Sure enough, that has cropped up to bite us in the bum.

I have to wonder, in light of this inquiry and his involvement in the circumstances, that he's bailing cause he knows he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar...or somewhere else, if you know what I mean.

Thanks girls, and thanks Brandon....for giving this program a black eye. I think they need to scrap that whole thing. It's so superficial...don't see how programs cock-teasing recruits like that can help us.

Seems like Miller knows he had nothing to hide regarding the hostess fiasco. He knew what these girls were all about and wasn't trying to make a play on one of them....like Willis did.

Hot girls are fine...literally :) ...but that's not what an athletic program needs to be trying to sell. We don't need to be running a psuedo-brothel. There are hot girls everywhere a recruit may chose to go. And them being high profile athletes affords them plenty of opportunities to score some honey's. :)

They don't need hostesses running a shallow game to lure them.

Well...seeing that he is an EE, and he knows he's the source of our NCAA inquiry, the shot clock may have just run out on CEO.

They pushed the limit with these hostesses and now it's bitten us on the bum...both cheeks too. :)

per volquest
"I've known for a couple of days. On Tuesday I called Coach O (Ed Orgeron) and Coach (Lane) Kiffin," Willis said. "They told me they were only going to get a secondary violation. Then I called and told my dad (Gary). Dad said choose where you want to go to school, and I want to go to the University of Tennessee."

Willis, who indicated to VolQuest.com on Wednesday here inside the Alamo Dome that he would reaffirm his pledge to the Vols, is Tennessee's second pick-up here this week. On Friday night, four-star safety Ahmad Dixon of Waco, Texas, went public with his commitment.

My sense is that some who do this are too dumb to realize that I am talking about them; thus the need to make it obvious.

gotcha.... just hate to publize them anymore they they already have been.... I am in complete agreement with you tho that all these negative post from people every time something happens conterversal hurts us. There are several recruits who are members of this board who read it on a regular basis. :bow2:

Still not naming names but….

I don't really see anything wrong with what onevol74 said because I would think other coaches where trying to scare our recruits. Now the other member(s) you quoted where just going WAY overboard.

I see a lot of people hitting the panic button these days on VN.

These are young men trying to make the best decision for them. They might change their mind numerous times. If they do not choose your school it is not an indictment on them (he could not qualify, he is afraid of competition, etc.), your program (Hostessgate caused this, secondary violations scared him, Kiffin did not shake Beamers hand long enough, etc.), or your programs future. While our coaches want him, otherwise they would not have offered, there is no reason to melt down. We will be fine regardless of what a particular young man decides.

I've been told by posters for years that what is said on message boards can't possibly affect recruiting. Apparently a lot of people are of the opinion that high schoolers don't have internet access and don't like reading about themselves.

Wow. Everybody ask permission from Voldad before posting. First time I have seen threats like that.

Not everybody. Just people dumb enough to think a couple of attention starved harpies going to a high school football game was going to bring down a football program.

Does that sound familiar or did someone else say it?

And what is the "threat" in my post?

Threat

1. a declaration of an intention or determination to inflict punishment, injury, etc., in retaliation for, or conditionally upon, some action or course; menace: He confessed under the threat of imprisonment.

2. an indication or warning of probable trouble: The threat of a storm was in the air.
