I hate it for a guy like Curt, but I got to ask. Why not come back. He more than likely won't get drafted because of his injury past, so he has the free agent route, but that's no guarantee. Why not come back if allowed to and possibly get drafted around the third round and then make a little bit more money. Now I know there is the possibility of another injury and no money but that's also a possility if he goes on the the nfl. Just a though. O and Cam is gone JRM will stay.

This will be Curt's sixth year, and its mentally and physically draining to spend 4 years in a college football program, much less 6. Most of his buddies are gone from the team due to graduation. And if a guy is good enough, he's going to eventually get paid, no matter which round they are drafted in.

Sutton and JRM are tossups. Would love to see both of them come back, but that's just me being selfish. Those guys love UT, but when the Pros call, it's very enticing.

The toughest part about it is that they are having to bet on themselves if they come back. They risk getting hurt and falling down the draft board. The best thing about this is that depth is being built to combat this. But obviously having those 2 come back would be gravy.

For Cam, wonder what his GPA is? If he likes school may make a difference..if he doesn't, have seen many leave in hopes of any cash

So do we have any seniors that will get drafted or will this be another year where no one from Tennessee gets drafted?

I respectfully disagree with CBJ. Even 2nd, 3rd &4th rounders are practically guaranteed to make the team for a couple of yrs. Minimum is over $400,000, plus a yr ahead of the free agency requirement where you can make big money.

Some players are just tired of school, don't care about a degree right now and need a job to feed their family (many college players have children).

The majority of Coach's tend to say this as well. Even have heard Saban allude to the top 15 pick, especially if another year can be the difference between being a 3rd rounder and a first rounder. This hasn't been Cam's most productive year and supposedly the knock on him is he needs to become a better tackler. He isn't a first rounder this year and not guaranteed to be a second rounder. Unless he just absolutely needs the money this year he will most likely be recommended to return. With Gaulden being back at Nickel and Martin improving every week opposite of him teams won't be able to not throw his way as much as they have this year.

Sort of. Remember, TKJr was a starting S much of the season while LaDarrell's neck injury was being diagnosed fully. And Evan Berry got plenty of play time, too. Not like we're starting from scratch back there.

The toughest gap to fill is definitely Cam's spot. On the positive side, Moseley, Foreman, and Abernathy all got notably better as the year went along, and Gaulden will be back with the team in 2016.

And throw in the Juco CB Henderson that we have committed. He has had Florida going after him hard and has seen his stock rise. I really don't think Cam leaves but if he does then we still should be fine. Plus if we can upgrade at DB coach that would help also. Don't think it's a coincidence the secondary regressed after Terry Fair left. Think Martinez is one of those coach's that is a good recruiter but not a good coach, especially technique.

Gaulden being back will be huge

I am going to UTK graduation next Friday (Dec 11). Will Cam be going thru the line?

If so, I will give him the secret VN handshake

It's all speculation. But butch has all but said its not worth it unless you are a top 15 pick. So I expect cam and JRM to be back. Cam has a 2nd - 3rd round grade right now. I don't know his family financial situation, but he could definitely increase his stock by returning.

I think JRM would be making a huge mistake leaving early.

Just want to point out that our special teams are exceptional as to compared to a couple of years ago where they were very bad. What a remarkable difference and kudos out to the players and the coaches who've made his possible. :good!:

No inside info but I think Maggitt and Jackson are gone but Sutton and JRM will be back to increase their draft stock on the best SEC team.

Im with you. Maggitt & Jackson are done. As for JRM I think he stays too. I really think Sutton will be back because, of the same reason you say. I think it would be in his best interest if he comes back for another season.

We'll all find out for certain soon.

I think it will be a mistake if Sutton and JRM leave, they both need a really good year to seriously improve their NFL stock and draft status.

No sir. This team is a lot bigger than four guys. Even four really talented guys, as they are.

8-4 to 12-0+ is the realistic range of possibilities for Team 120, I agree with you on that, but the shift from one extreme to the other doesn't happen because of just four of the 105 on the roster. With or without these four, we have the potential to win championships in 2016.

It's going to be another exciting year. Go Vols!
