We once had #'s on the side of our helmets,long long ago...Power T is our stamp of identification nationwide now.

And they were't much a part of our past. I think it was 1962 we had orange numbers on the helments and in 1963 the numbers were black the year of the "halloween uniforms". Before those two years we had white helments with an orange stripe and that was it. After 1963 the power T came along in '64 and the rest is history.

I liked them. It's a good look for them. That being said, like someone else implied in this thread, Bammers will say Vols want to be us. While we would like to be able to say we have many championships as they do. However copying their uniforms definitely wreaks of lil brother trying to be like big brother.

No, we had numbers on the helmets in 1963 "the pumpkin uniforms" and they only wore them that one seaon. They were bad luck.

UT is too traditionalist. It would take a Kiffin kind of Coach to make uni changes. Dooley is more concerned in having a winning campaign next season than uni changes, and rightfully so.
