So it seems Pops will not be returning either

I think Reese will fit in well, and I honestly mean that. My concern for him would be he's at a position that's really crowded now, and about to get even more crowded. If he could prove that he can handle his own at the 5 he could find himself a nice role on this team and get 15-20 minutes a game.
Ehhhh, you really think Reese will want to play the 5? Reese doesn't seem to have much of a offensive game down low but we know he can block shots/rebound well. I just can't see him being the a Center on the team; even though the SG and PF spots will be suffice.

Don't have to have a low post offensive game to be a 5 in this system.

And if he wants to play more minutes than he has either of his first 2 years he will play whatever coach Tyndall asks him to.

Physically he's gonna be the 2nd most suited to play the 5 behind McKnight.

I agree with all that. He has pretty big legs which definitely helps holding your own down low. And even then if he is outsized we know Reese can knock down the outside shot which hopefully can make the other teams bigs to leave paint chasing him.

I understand why Pops was run off, but it's this kind of thing that I think of when the NCAA pushes the "STUDENT-athlete" mantra in arguing that players shouldn't be paid.

What options does Pops have at this point? He will need more than one year of credits to graduate from somewhere, and he's only got one year of eligibility/scholarship. It's cold ****.

Do you know this for a fact with Pops or just assuming?

He can transfer down to a mid major and use his redshirt while he graduates and play next year

Or transfer down to D2 or NAIA and play this year while getting his degree

I feel in cases like this he should if not in current coaches plans being given right to transfer to former coaches employer if offered. And if Cuonzo would say no with an open scholarship would show what kind of person he really is.

He can pay for his classes just like other people that don't have the talent to earn a basketball scholarship

looks like Donnie is just saying, whether you stay or go, we are going to have players, we are going to have a team, and we are going to have a season.

All these players leaving and recruits leaving makes me question just how much better CDT's new commits are to scare the rest away. I know there's going to be a turn over but now that pops is leaving I just question just how poorly our roster was last year.

One could argue he never should have been given the scholarship in the first place
