and him recruiting at Ole Miss. I figured I'd just post some interesting stuff I read whenever I get there.

So far I've basically gotten
He never takes a break from recruiting. It's his life. The more he recruits, the less time he has to go out and drink and party, which he thinks is one of his only weaknesses.

He loves slightly undersized DL who have a motor that doesn't stop, but most important, they have to get off of the ball.

If anybody has any questions, ask and I"ll answer them if it's in the book anywhere.

Interesting, but wasn't there an article a while back saying that he was a little hesitant to go back to the college game because recruiting took up so much of his life and away from his family?

I'm not really sure. He basically said he's trading in his addiction to drinking for an addiction to recruiting.

And his wife doesn't really care according to the book. He basically said she never calls or worries about him while he's on the road recruiting.

You'll enjoy. I have it and have read it. Shines a light on how hard that man works.

Sounds like a workaholic.

I read it. Great book, fun read. His wife doesn't worry about him drinking when he's on the road recruiting because he's so passionate it about it. I think one of the reasons he floundered at ole miss was being too loyal to his coaches from miami.

Great book and really gives a view into Coach O and recruiting as a whole. Anyone saying we don't need him here without reading the book is not doing their homework. I've recommended it many times.

I read it in about 3 days. Not the deepest book in the world, you could tell the writer was conscious of not offending anyone. I will say that I really really like yawyaw after reading it.

Going to go get it tomorrow and read it. Didn't want to waste my time if he wasn't coming.

the biggest impressions i got when i read it a year ago were

1) the incredible amount of caffeine the ogre consumes daily

2) how the ogre has a real knack for finding diamonds in the rough that have been overlooked by other coaches, ranking services, etc.

I think his secret is he looks past all the stats, looks the young man in the eye and LISTENS to what he says. He apparently has the gift of discernment, and can grade character, more importantly knows what type of character traits as well as physical abilities make a good d lineman.

I started reading it last night. I like the fact that he seems so passionate about what he does. Sometimes it seems borderline crazy. In one of the first chapters it says he challenged Warren Sapp to a fight while coaching him at Miami. It will be a good change to see a coach with some fire.
