When Fenway had them we called it "giving the ol' ballpark character". Back in 2000 I dropped my Nokia brick cell phone in a Wrigley Field troth.. but that's another story..I will say it involved a blonde and my call the next day to the office was " Yeah I left it in a cab. Could you Fedex me one to the hotel?"Peeing in a bathtub was good enough for my grand-dad its good enough for the yougins!
"Embarrassing" seems a little dramatic.
But does their stadium have character? The most naturally scenic shot of the stadium for TV cameras is from the river. And that side is a bunch of metal beams covered in rust. The insides of the South and East are like caves.
Go to Tuscaloosa or College Station or Baton Rouge and compare the concourses of those stadiums to the concourses in the South and East sides of Neyland. It's embarrassing.
It's a shame we kept putting them off and putting them off, then COVID hit and they're probably nixed. The South and East sides of the stadium are embarrassing.
