So how good is Bowling Green?

They lost their MLB, starting safety, and nickel. They also have several guys banged up. Why are so many forgetting AJ's impact? A lot of the depth you are referring to are freshmen. I'm specifically talking about the BG game, not the entire season. I think many of the freshmen will make an impact on the season, but the first few games take a lot of adjusting to get used to the overall speed.

Tennessee is bigger, faster, stronger, and more talented then BG. In fact, there is a huge talent gap between the two teams. Sure, they'll score some points but the difference is that our defense will be able to slow them down significantly. On the flip side our offense should carve them up like Thanksgiving Turkey. Tennessee nearly always comes out fired up for the opening game. Vols will win by a minimum of 3 TD's.

LWSVOL, one of the more respected posters on the board, just predicted 35-20 UT.

By most of y'all's predictions, many will flip out if that is the score.

Who cares if he's respected. We'll win by more. I suggest you put some money where your vajayjay is and bet me.

If they have played UT's skill players for a spring and fall camp... and aren't ready for BGSU then UT has problems much larger than any of us thought.

As for AJ, teams replace productive players EVERY YEAR. That's part of the fun of CFB. You want to focus on that while UT upgraded at every other position except a possible push at NB. If you ask ANY CFB coach if they'd be satisfied with more depth, talent, and development at 10 of 11 positions... they'd all say yes.

I've read Larry's post for a long time. He has had sources that were reliable in the past. Over the past year or two, his posts have begun to shade negative with regard to expectations.

Recently, his sources supposedly told him that Thomas was out of the C running maybe because he couldn't handle the mental part. I repeated that assertion out of respect for him.

The depth chart makes it pretty clear that Thomas isn't out of the running for C but rather the likely starter.

Yes. We might flip out if UT only scores 35 pts vs a TERRIBLE MAC defense. I think the dominance of UT's DE's will keep BGSU from running their O. If that's right, they ain't scoring 20 unless they do it on the 4th string.

True... except IMO UT's depth and talent at DE can prevent BGSU from doing what they want to do. If UT owns their backfield then the UT D will get off the field... and turn it into a slaughter.

Ive roamed their board some. They seem confident in their offense, their defense not so much. Ive seen predictions of them winning by scoring 40+ points on us with us scoring just under that. Jmo if we give up 40 to them its gonna be a long year

Here is their prediction thread for the game that I've been following and while there are some outliers it appears to me that 90% of them don't think they stand a prayer of a chance.

I hope like crazy that we beat them by 50, but we have so many fans that predict big wins and when they don't come to fruition the sky is falling on this board.

I hope I am dead wrong. I really do.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm predicting a double digit win. Just not a 5 touchdown victory.

i would be ecstatic if that happens.

Their D is horrible and their O's strength is running up tempo. That is a formula for UT scoring lots and lots and lots of points. I think UT's advantage at the LOS on D will limit BGSU. Even if they score points... UT should score A LOT more.

How good is bowling green ? Did you see any of the high school football games on espn last weekend? About that good.

Their F+ rankings for last year had them ranked around 70th nationally (we were 24th I think?), and they're replacing over half their defense, so while they may score some points on us, they are not as good as their record from last year suggests.

Bowling Green will do well to score 2 touchdowns. With a couple field goals. I expect at least 1 defensive score and 5 offensive TDs by The Big Orange. I am looking forward to the opening win!!

No. It's a safe and respectable pick.

If the score is close and the game goes into overtime then we need to start a gofundme account for freak so that he can purchase new servers after the OU and Florida games. Literally SHTF. :jpshakehead:
