So how good is Bowling Green?

Actually BG runs a fast style offense that gave us a few fits in the first half of the Arky St (I believe it was) game last year...I can see them hanging tough for the first quarter or even half.

Then it's just a matter of the bigger guns taking over.

I believe last year they ran more plays per game than year any one in the nation.

FWIW, Lindy's has them ranked 45. Higher than South Carolina, Kentucky, and Vandy. Very good offense, very little defense.

Honestly, for an opening opponent, they aren't half bad. We will definitely win, but people shouldn't confuse this with opening with UT Martin.

Hmmm reading the comments here brings me back to the beginning of last season. Most thought that Utah State with Keeton, we're going to give us fits because of their offense. Fast forward to this year and the same thing is being said about BG, minus Keeton of course. Expect the same type of outcome. BG should pose little, to any threat to us whatsoever.

Somebody hit me with a BG scouting report.

Not good enough to win, but good enough to make some people on here scratch their heads. Historically they can't stop anything but they can put up some points. Don't be surprised if it is a high scoring game from both teams.

If BG manages to roll up an absurd amount of yards and score a lot of points against UT's defense, Bob Stoops will be all smiles in the days leading up to our match up with the Sooners.

High powered offense, dominating defense, if not for their conference they would've been in the playoffs last year IMO. Jk

In all honesty, if BG scores that much on us, we're screwed for most other games. If our defense can't stop them, they won't OK, uga, bama, etc.

Only difference is that I don't think BG will be able to stop our offense at all, where as Utah State had a pretty decent D.

Last year BG were 115th in total defense, 99th in rush defense, 122nd in passing defense (3rd from last), and 106th in scoring defense.

The only top 25 team they played was Wisconsin who put up 68 points and 756 total yards on them. Wisky rushed for 644 yards on 60 attempts (10.4 yards per rush LOL). Melvin Gordon had 179 yards and 4 TDs before halftime, and finished with 253 yards and 5 scores. Hurd and Kamara should have a field day.

And then consider that they only return 5 starters off of that putrid defense. We should score on basically every drive.

It might be good for them they only return 5 lmao.

BG lost to NIU in the MAC championship game and beat South Alabama in the Camelia Bowl. They also beat Indiana who beat Missouri who beat the Vols. However, against Wisconsin the gave up 68 points. Most of their skill players are from Florida and graduated from the same HS as Curt Maggitt, Palm Beach Dwyer. I would say they are a cross between Utah St. And Ark St.
