So how does it go the rest of the way?

@ Miss St- The bulldogs are hot at 5-0 but have they proven anything? The other bulldogs certainly hadn't and got torched by South Carolina. Tennessee will attack early and often against a Miss St. Defense that got smoked by Troy. Tennessee wins by two touchdowns.

Saw this on another site...

Since 2010, State's losses at home:

Auburn 17-14- Auburn won NC
UPig 38-31 in Double OT- UPig played in BCS game
LSU- 19-6- LSU won SEC title and finished #2
SC 14-12- SC finished ranked 8th in the country
Alabama- 24-7- Bama scored a TD with a minute left in game

Don't count on MSU being so easy.

After four years, I bet ole John is sick of eating gumbo. But he got that defense looking good! Not so sure about that dude you guys have playing quarterback. He looks a little scared. Think you can beat them cocks on Saturday?

Just to make BC happy, please sniff yourself...do you smell like a corndog?

I think we have the cards stacked in our favor as best as they possibly can if we are to win; at home, at night.

also, a little CLM stats:

Les Miles has now lost 19 times since he's been at LSU. In the previous 18 times he has followed up that loss with a win 17 times. The lone loss was to Arkansas 31-30 in 2008.

He has played a ranked opponent 7 times after a loss. He has won all 7 of those games by an average score of 32-16. In those games his teams have averaged 419 yards of offense while giving up 320.

He has played 2 top 10 opponents. 2-0, average score of 32-12, 451-239 yardage differential.

He has played 1 top 5 opponent - #5 Alabama in 2010. LSU won 24-21 at home outgaining the Tide 433-325.

However, i don't think our offense is to be expected to perform that way this time. Our OL is in shambles and i dont see it getting any better in the next 2 days.

ETA: no, i don't smell like corndogs, do your farts smell like Franzia?

:eek:lol:

Just think how good LSU would be if they could ever find a decent QB .

im saying that if/when he decides to leave LSU, it will be for nothing less than a HC position.

... or NFL, ya never know.

The only reason Chavis left UT is because he was let go. Miles was wise to snap him up. Chavis is a natural DC, and good at it with the right talent.

I cannot see him as a HC. He's in his comfort zone, and he's staying there. Period.

If you want to speculate, try your hand at measuring the meltdown in Baton Rouge after LSU loses back-to-back games.

Might want to shift your attention to an OC; that's where LSUs' weakness lies.

Go Vols.

Winless in October, split November with losses to Mizzou and Vandy.

Inconsistency, and the pressure of October reveals the truth about our coaching.

I truly hope I am wrong.

Obviously, with a win against MSU and 8-4 record is almost a certainty although SC could become competitive if Shaw and/or Lattimore don't play. Lose to MSU and I'd like to think 7-5 is the floor but I don't know where the bottom really is for this bunch if they start thinking that they're in a deep hole.

Mizzou and Vandy are horrible. Nothing I have seen so far suggests we lose to them. We may not be a good football team, but we can score points and neither of those defenses will stop us.

UGA had a bad game and USCe played their best game of the season. Virtually flawless. They're not going to bring that every week. They have LSU then UF (both away) before playing UT. Unless Bama is more brutal than I expect, UT should come in healthier than USCe.

USCe is playing better than I expected but they aren't very deep. Probably thinner in most spots than UT. It will take magic dust for them to get through their schedule unscathed.

If we end 9-3, I am all about Dooley staying and keeping the improvements coming.

Count me as a negaVol, but 9-3 means we beat either Bama or USCe. If Dooley can do that and beat all the lesser teams left, then the man deserves another year.

Hee hee hee! I like you! Cajuns are my favorite fans in the entire SEC.

So, if they put that Alabama teabagger guy (Brian) into a Louisiana state prison......will anything bad happen to him?

0 for October would not be a shock at all. IF we were to also lose to Vandy and Mizzou, Holy Hell! If people think this place is NegaVol central now, it could get ugly.

State is a toss up, yet you predict them beating UT by 15? Doesn't sound like you believe it is a toss up.

My personal feelings on the score were not asked in this thread, oh great thread Whisperer.

I feel UT will crumble down the stretch like always.

But the game is a toss up, officer.

Op asked how the season goes, therefore he is asking your opinion. You say toss up, but predict a 15 point loss, how is your score not a part of your opinion? I just want to know how you came up with toss up when you have us losing by so much?

I see it as a toss up too, but a win less than 7 either way.

We go 8-4 this season. I think we beat MSST and lose a battle with Bama (score will not reflect how close the game actually was) and lose a heartbreaker to USCe (in the final minutes). And go 4-0 in November.

UT @ MSST- W -31-13
Bama @ UT- L - 24-10
UT@USCe- L- 27-21
Troy @ UT- W 45-21
Mizzou@UT- W 41-13
UT@Vandy- W 31-14
UK@UT- W 45-10

Vs Bama- Do I see a blowout? There will be a blowout if Tennessee doesn't bring a strong defense, but they will not give up and Bama will get the win but it's gonna be a whole lot closer than some people think.

@ South Carolina- Spurrier had the gamecocks looking down right scary last week, but let's not forget how overrated Georgia really was. After all, Richt is 0-10 against teams that finished the previous season ranked. I noticed something that ole Bobo didn't or either he was stuck in his rushing ways. South Carolina's D may get pressure but if you pass, pass, pass, they get confused and worn down. Uga did it on one drive and it worked, why they kept going back to the run that was getting stuffed is beyond me. Chaney oughtta be happy here, Tennessee wins slinging the ball.

Vs Troy- Troy is pesky but they won't be pesky enough.

Vs Mizzou- Well, they are having a tougher transition to the SEC than their fans thought. They are plagued with injuries and their team chemistry is split. Vols win easy.

@Vandy- Franklin is still pissed about last year and this year isn't any easier, Tennessee blows em out.

Vs Kentucky- Kentucky is bad, very very bad. This one wont be a contest as a very pissed off Tennessee team gets their revenge and the streak starts again.

I see a January bowl game coming as the Vols turn this year around and end with a record of 9-3.

So, we end with a regular season record of 7 - 5 and then we win the Music City Bowl against an ACC team for our 8th win of the season.
Then we go home and watch basketball season....

We're finishing 8-4.

we are finishing 7 - 5 as a regular season record and a Music City Bowl win against an ACC team to give us our 8 - 5 season.

We will likely lose to MSU on Saturday. I know we are capable, but they are going to run, then run, then run some more against us. And we can't stop them.
However,; if Patterson & Hunter catch the ball, we will be able to score faster and more often than MSU and win the game.
But the only dependable receivers we have are Z. Rogers and Rivera. So, I see Hunter & Patterson to continue to drop the ball and us lose. We won't be able to keep getting first downs and moving the ball. Because they won't catch the ball.
The punter will have a long day and our defense will be on the field a long, long, long time, while the offense sits on the sidelines after a 3 and out.........

I would be surprised if UT doesn't win a game this month. Possible but it would be a "shock".

However if that does happen then UT should have an interim coach in place for Troy IMO.
