So far we have played..

A very good Florida team to a 17 point L.
An overrated UGA team to one touchdown.
And we've dominated lesser competition.

Going ahead I predict:

Miss St. (L)
Alabama (L)
So. Car (L)
Troy (W)
Mizzou (Tossup)
Vanderbilt (W)
Kentucky (W)

So we'll be 7-5, and I think that's enough to keep Dooley's job.

Yay, Dooley would keep his job going 7 - 5 against a weaker schedule and then next year when we have a tougher schedule, he will go 5 - 7 or worse. Just want I wanted, 4 years of sub-par football.

Some of you are just pathetic. Fire Dooley and where does that put the program? The man had to replace seven coaches. Go ahead and set the program back. Then in another year if the new coach loses position coaches and goes 5-7 you will want him gone. Somewhere along the line there has to be some support and stability or we will eventually be down there with Vandy. Look at how changing coaches has worked at KY and Vandy....It hasn't.

I must have missed something. We are down with Vandy right now. If you didn't notice, they went to a bowl last year, we did not. They also have a better recruiting class so far this year.

I would love to support CDD; however, enough is enough if he can't beat any of our rivals. We have no stability with all the losing we have.

I did not see anything about Miss St that puts them at a level that is unbeatable for us. They didn't exactly blow Ky out, by any means..All they have done that is noteworthy is beat Auburn and Arky handled Auburn rather easily?

The key for us is to transfer the momentum from the second hAlf of the Georgia game to Mississippi St. I will admit we have not been able to do that under Dooley, and so far that is his Achilles heel.

The advantage for us this time is we are showing real signs of having a pretty good run game which can lengthen possessions and keep the def. off the field. I believe we are developing some real unity and confidence as a team, which we have not had in a long time.

Of course, all this means nothing to someone who wants Dooley fired at all costs and actually prefers the team to lose to see that happen...

Comparing our football program to UK's and Vandy's is what's truly pathetic, as if we can't hire a coach above their standards. See, this is what happens when apathy sets in.

This is key. I'm not sure everyone understands how poor 7-5 would be with this year's schedule. If people really feel that warrants retention or signifies improvement, then get ready for next year; you'll really enjoy it.

might be, but uga isn't overrated, they're playing bad there's a difference. and that 17 points describes about 45 seconds of that game. ut could finish anywhere between 7-5 or 10-2 and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

No they played bad last week. They are overrated this week. STFU

Most fans would support a winning coach. Trying to tell yourself a losing coach can all a sudden become a winner just does not make sense. Sure it has happened some time in the past. Dooley has done nothing but lose. If you think firing a losing coach will set the program back, I think it is you that needs to rethink things. Support and stability will come with winning. Dooley is not a winner, he does not deserve unlimited support while he drags this program down further. UK and Vandy is a poor example as they have always lost. Tennessee deserves better and a UT fan should feel that way. JMO

SCjr is just a nightmare matchup for us. Their D line is straight up scary. Not to mention Lattimore. Miss St is a MUST win. I just don't see Bama or SCjr being remotely close games.

After today I agree. I thought GA was better and perhaps they are but having a horrid game....SC is better than I thought. I still think the Vols will win their other games and finish 8-4 though

I'll go with that. 7-5 and a bowl appearance (win or lose) will keep Dooley safe and he get's his contract extension.

Our wins are against less talented to inferior teams. Not much to hang our hat's on as a fan base and looking into the future should concern us all.

Drags the program down further?.... Comments like these are what destroys any credibility you may have as a poster on VM

I predict that some of you guys are going to develop carpal tunnel, because you type too many useless posts. Let the season play out before you talk about replacing the coach. If the overall season is a bust, then by all means go ape s**t, but until it happens save those keystrokes.

NEGAVOLS HEED MY WARNING. CARPAL TUNNEL IS SERIOUS.
