legitimize Boise St? That win over the Ducks to open the season is looking more and more impressive as Oregon rolls on against legit competition.

I'm still up in the air, i don't think they are in a class with the major programs, they just happened to be in form to start the season and Oregon wasn't.

I still don't think we can tell for sure. I think Oregon is a different team right now. I do not believe the result would be the same if they played this weekend.

I think it puts them as the number 4 unbeaten.

Oregon looked pretty lousy their first three games. They are a pretty young team. I think they would smoke bsu on a neutral field

Maybe. It is easy to speculate now that Oregon has humiliated a consensus top 5 Trojan team. The fact is, though, that it doesn't really matter, because they don't play on a neutral field in November. They played in Boise in September, and BSU came away with a convincing win over a team that will be solidly in the top 10 with the new poll.

I'd argue that they have a better win on their resume than Iowa. The question really gets interesting, though, if the choice for the national championship comes down to an undefeated Boise or someone like an SEC champion Bama team with one loss to LSU.

My dream scenario still has Boise St. going all "Utah" on Bammer in the BCSNCG

Beating Oregon is way better than beating Penn State. They are 4 after UF, Texas, and Bama. I'm really starting to hope its just UF and Texas. I don't want a team like Iowa (although I don't think they finish unbeaten) or Cincy in the title game.

...well as a MWC fan, most of us can't stand Boise st. & their fans. The blue field is an abomination to football. I have to admit though, everytime Boise St. has a chance to prove everyone wrong, they do. I certainly wouldn't bet against them if they do get a BCS bowl.

Gotcha. I was counting either Bama or Florida as a one loss, so I misunderstood.

At this point, it looks like it may only be a question of whether Boise makes THE BCS game. They are ranked in everybody's top 5, and with Idaho being possibly their toughest remaining game, there isn't a lot of chance to slip up.

Well you can't have both TCU and Boise in the BCS... That would not be allowed. I was miffed at the preseason rankings putting Boise above TCU considering the horned frogs beat them in the poinsettia bowl last year.

I don't think last year's bowl games affect anything this year.

Why wouldn't it? Do you not think a teams bowl win can influence their ranking the next season? Happens every year. Both teams had much of their core players returning this year. TCU won but Boise gets a kiss these days from the pollsters

If they were returning the same people, then maybe its fair, but a bowl game shouldn't really affect much about the following year. Was Michigan better than Florida in the 2008 season?

Everybody based their opinions of Ole Miss on the end of last year and their bowl game.

To be fair, they are probably only the second worst team to reach the number 4 mark this year.
