I'm a little short on details here. Did he meet with the players today (or at any point) regarding his decision? Did he give any kind of statement to the media and fans? Shoot, even Kiffin did that much

I'm hoping his decision was a result of being 2,000 miles away and getting offered the job on the spot.

then you tell the AD to have the contracts ready so you can go back and handle things like you preach. Somebody prolly even has a SWA voucher he can use and be back the same day or next morning.

Im not sure why it really matters.

If the returning players are pissed that an assistant come in and made the announcement then that's their right. Im not gonna be pissed for them (if they are not on their own) or myself for not getting a presser.

Best case scenario is UT makes the hire its capable of and both sides move on.

I'm just saying I hope this was a logistical thing vs. a guy sneaking out of town.

it only matters that a man preaching to kids how to handle their business needs to handle his properly. Hart wasn't even aware of the interview and he talked to his new team prior to seeing his old one. jmo

What Martin is just as bad if not worse than what Kiffin did. Kiffin was offered his dream job and ran.
Martin interviews for Marquette then negotiates a deal to stay at TN announcing he knew in his heart TN is where he wants to be. Then goes on a recruiting trip to AZ on TN'S money, interviews for the CAL job and accepts it That is a bad way to do business.

Basically what I said. If his current (former players) are pissed about the way he handled it then that is their right. Not that it matters but I have read a few comments from the outgoing players and they don't seem to have any issues with it. I know they don't really have a dog in the hunt anymore but that normally allows one to speak his mind as well.
In the end it changes little.

Isn't that what everyone criticized Hart with Strong for? Letting him back on the plane without a signed deal?

And like others have already said, look at the reaction of his players, they clearly don't have an issue with how he handled it.

Not speaking for anyone else but at this point I don't have any reason to care. He's gone and UT is looking for his replacement.
