I have questioned two hires from Kiffin so far, & those are the Reaves hire as he was the QB's coach @ S.C. & i must say the QB's over there didnt fair to good. I also questioned the hire of James Cregg, the only reason is because i dont know much about his resume. How did the Raiders O-Line fair while he was there?

we hired him yes, but i heard that after he said he was coming here that he changed his mind and asked Spurrier if he could come back and Steve said no so he still decided to come here.....thought that was interesting.

When he was the O-Line coach at Oakland they were 6th in the NFL in both Rushing and Red Zone TD percentage.

Obviously he made a good impression on Kiffin when Kiff was the HC for the Raiders.

Reaves was hired more as a recruiter than as a QB coach. Cregg is considered to be a good OL coach. There are thread discussing both in more detail here.

Agreed, Reaves was the QB coach in title, Spurrier coaches his QB's, always has. Reaves was their RC.
That was the draw.

What is your source for this? I would be concerned if this was true. We want someone that wants to be here. :zeitung_lesen:

That was a rumor started on a USCe board. There was some argument over when he was going to leave and such though...

So you're telling me that he had a change of heart and SOS booted him? Sounds a little hard to believe. I think SOS would have kept him just to halt the negative national perception of losing him to us.

Yeah, that's complete BS considering SC attempted to keep him by offering him a raise, but it wasn't as much as we offered. Regardless, even if it were true, we're still picking up one of the top SC coaches in the game and uscE will not hire one close to the level of Smith.

This area was a major reason for our fall off imo. I'm very excited about this hire.

THAT sells me on him. Remember when the Vols could be counted on to score when they got inside the 20? It was routine and expected. I want those days back.

True...we weren't a lock to score when we were inside the 3 yard line this year...

Of course I believe we only made it down that far 4 or 5 times all year though.

Yeah and those 4 or 5 times resulted in 3 turnovers.

I hope Lincoln can shake the cobwebs out of his head before next season. That poor kid couldn't have kicked a ball in the ocean with his feet touching sand.
