Coaching continuity is great as long as they don’t suck. The trio of Fulmer, Chief, and Cut was great. Remove one of those pieces and things start going sideways. Dabo is fortunate that he has Venables who appears to be perfectly happy being a DC. Usually when a coordinator is that good, they don’t hang around. I wonder what would happen to Clemson if Venables decides to throw his hat in the HC ring?

Saban went 14-1 and dominated the SEC, only UGA was even remotely close to beating them, so Saban’s not much worried about changing anything. Someone from the SEC has to stand up and end the Bama dominance, we can’t sit back and just applaud Clemson. The SEC teams have to say “enough of this crap” and start beating Bama. It reminds me of when Tiger Woods was so dominant on the PGA Tour and you’d just sit back and wonder aloud “can anyone in this field of 200 other dudes step up and stop this nonsense?” Personally, I’d rather an SEC team (not named Georgia) step up and start beating Bama’s ass on the reg. Then and only then, will you see Saban retire.

There were many areas I thought Clemson out schemed Bama yesterday on both sides of the ball. They were matched in talent, but out coached...and am sure Saban's going to be pure hell on his staff in off season.

If you can get a elite one every year and you have more talent than anybody, yeah DC/OC turnover ain’t that big of a deal , but eventually
Somewhere down the road ones going to turn out to be average or worse.

Would be nice but we won't know until next year. They are loaded at WR and RB next year and Tua will be back. One can only hope they keep the kicker.

With the lack of quality coaches in the SEC, he will be back contending for another title next year.

Outside of maybe Jimbo Fisher who is still a couple of years away, what sec coach listed below is even in the same league with Saban?

Pruitt?
Malzhan?
Mullen?
(Not so) Smart?
Muschamp?
Orgeron?

Clearly Venables, a marquee coordinator (perhaps the best one extant) beat the crap out of the Tide offense, and whoever that chump with the Slingblade haircut pretending to be Saban's DC didn't stand a chance. If Swinney had ordered it, Clemson could have scored 65.

Venables Defense didn’t beat the crap out of The Tide offense. Their was only 39 yards total difference. Turnovers and the ability to stop Alabubba on 3 (4th downs) was the difference. But I did like seeing Alabubba losing.

The D scheme had nothing to with Tuas picks, nor stopping Ala in the red zone, holding a team that averaged 50 ppg to 16, none in the 2d half. Okay then. You are in the "we just beat ourselves" camp.

I've read several comments in this thread about "Tua was off" and frankly that was not the case at all. His passes were very much on target most of the night. What happened to Tua was he ran into one of the premier defensive DCs in college football. He threw two picks, the first for 7 the other way due to being outschemed, he flat fooled Tua on the coverages and made Tua look very ordinary. Tua had lost confidence by the time he got pulled, he was rattled, he didn't trust himself. However it was that Clemson D that did it, Tua when he was on was having a decent game.

I doubt Saban is thrilled his assistants leave every year. I don't think that's part of some weird narcissistic plan.

I think that's just the result of playing in championships every single year.

First of all, Is that a one sentence paragraph? LOL You did feed the troll. He does have an agenda. He wasn't trying to really talk about LOS and how OL play effects the QB. Even a monkey that watches football can figure out the QB play is effected by poor OL play. That wasn't the point of his post or narrative. His narrative was to make excuses for poor QB play by JG and put JG's inadequacies on the shoulders of all the UT offensive lineman. While the OL did their part to cause UT to be one of the offenses in the country in 2018. JG doesn't have the mind, pre snap reading ability, and several other qualities to be a great SEC QB!!! He is good at best. A good QB in the SEC will not get you 9-10 win seasons and a shot at the SEC EAST!!!

^^^ This! Let it be UT!!! Fulmer said he was going to fix UT football. Maybe he is close by poaching a great DC and great OC from a SEC rival. Fulmer also said Pruitt will be judged by what his team's can do vs UF, UGA, and Bama. Maybe Fulmer can find a way to punch some holes in the UF ship too!!!

Maybe. But the man better get busy. Florida has dominated his life for about 3 decades now. But I can promise you, this Gator would much rather see the East come down to UF-UT every year than us both watching Georgia win it with ease.
