So. Carolina Next Week

Lulz. Jeffery is pretty good, but Julio's an NFL wideout playing in college.

No he isn't. Jeffery has the size and the wheels. Good defenses slam the door on Jones regularly because he doesn't have the wheels.

I'll be there. Flying in Saturday morning if the weather is good or driving in Friday if it isn't.

Well now we get to find out if 6-6 is still feasible, because this weekend will mark the 2-6 point.

Check the game stats for the SC vs Ala game. Jeffery blew him away. Alshon is just as good or better than J Jones. South Carolina also has a better WR group as a whole. The Key for UT will be to get to Garcia and stop the run. Both possible for UT but will they do it?

Hopefully. But my hopes really aren't high at this point.

I'm in too. Alshon can't hold Julio's jock. We have a great chance to win if Lattimore is resting. Without Lattimore, SC is no better than KY, and we own KY.

I just got offered tickets yesterday. I'll be driving in from Atlanta with the little lady. I think you will be surprised at the number of UT fans that travel to the game.

I think this one is winnable too. 3 reasons --

1.) Unlike Alabama, S.Carolina actually turns the ball over, so we likely get a couple chances to stay in the game in the 2nd half due to S.C. mistakes.

2.) S.Carolina doesn't have the same 1-2 punch at RB that Alabama and Oregon have. If we stack the box and force Garcia to throw to win the game, he will make a few mistakes and we may be able to hang around late.

3.) S.Carolina doesn't have J.Jones at WR. I think we had the right defensive game plan against Bama. The problem is that it's really hard to commit guys to blitzing the QB, stacking the box against the run, AND double teaming J. Jones. At some point, something has to give defensively. S. Carolina doesn't have the same caliber threat at WR, so I don't think we get beat in the air like we did against Bama.

S. Carolina NEEDS to be that one game that UT is not supposed to win this year, but does. I think we lose a game to either Vandy, Kentucky, or Ole Miss (my bet is Ole Miss), so we need that S.C. game to have a shot at a bowl this year, which I think is REALLY important for our team.

GBO!

I will try to be as objective about this one as possible

Regarding #2, we may not have ingram and richardson, but marcus lattimore will be 100% after sitting out this week and should be effective against the vol D. As you probably know, he is a hard nosed runner who won't amaze you with speed but will break more tackles than you can count. With a more than capable backup in Brian Maddox (146 yds rushing last night), we will be able to get yards on the ground. Somewhere around 140-160 would be a good prediction, maybe more?

I don't even know what to say about #3. Im starting to wonder if you have watched a game other than a UT game all season. First of all, it is debatable but in my opinion Alshon Jeffery is more of a threat than Julio Jones. Jones is a great wr in his own right, but Jeffery will pose more problems to UT's secondary than Jones. Im not saying Jeffery will outgain him statistically (210 yds was it?) but I would bet pretty confidently on Alshon having over 140 in the game on Sat. And just for your information, our WR's as a group are better than Bama's. We dont start a WR shorter than 6'4 so good luck with that.

And before you guys start ragging on Garcia, he is 5th in the NCAA in passer rating our out 112 QBs. nuff said

Ok, anyone on here going? Please speak up. It's not going to be just dad and I and the Pride of the Southland MB is it? As crazy as it sounds, I think we may win this one. You heard it here first.

Wow! I am trying to be optimistic but you really have me beat on this one !

Vandy hung with SC and UK beat them straight up. I think the Bama game was a fluke for SC and UT can win if they execute and rattle Garcia.

I can't explain, its just a hunch. I think USC will think they're in for a cake walk, the game is early, I think the earlier the game, the better for the visitors. Just a feeling. It's the same feeling I had when Rocky Balboa fought Clubber Lang the 2nd time.
