UTAD lies about this constantly. Then advertises our attendance success and rankings. It's pathetic honestly. But, there is a good chance all the others are lying too.

UT fans are ridiculously dedicated, even in the current Sh1t Show of a program. It phenominal honestly. But the AD #s are never trustworthy unless it's a literal full house.

Why do teams inflate their numbers?

I'm not sure it was inflated. The bottom bowl was full. There was a fairly significant amount of people between the goal lines in the upper levels. The boxes appeared about half full. Only the upper end zones were empty. In a stadium that can seat well over 100k I would estimated it was well over half full.
