So ark coach or cbj?

Will anything make you happy at this point? Other than firing another coach?
Just give this team time, we will be fine.

Same thing was said for Dooley. Clearly CBJ is beater than Dooley, but the results are equal at the end of the day.

Arkansas was pitiful last year and magically are better. Like Auburn last year. And Mizzou.

But at UT we are celebrating close losses and bragging about recruiting.

People act like Coach B has turned around a dumpster fire but he hasn't done more with less. Arky only had 1 season that set them back. UT had 5 if you include Fulmers last year.

It was a dumpster fire. They were bad for two years and that's a lot of time when players are only around 3-5 years. It's also not like they have high star senior talent, since BP was a terrible recruiter. I like CBJs personality and recruiting, but people are blind if they think the Bielimas offensive philosophy isn't a better fit for this conference.

I think we have to factor in Stooley and Monte's son. Stooley was just SMH bad and Layla's husband is just SMH.

However, yeah. I really think the majority of the staff are performing at an elite level.

Then I look at Mahoney and Bajakian....

Arkansas has the biggest OL in the country, NFL included. We would have beat Georgia and maybe Oklahoma if we have their offensive line.

Arkansas also has Pittman who coached our latest NFL OL players. CBJ should have kept Pittman and we would have likely made the bowl game last year (and probably be better off going forward with him as he is clearly one of the better OL coaches in the country).

Off wise they look stout especially running the ball..

Again I like Jones but who looks further along in year 2 at this point?

Btw I still believe we win 7 this year.

Which coach inherited a dumpster fire and which a program that was regularly winning 10 games a year as recently as two years ago?

Maybe they start 5 seniors on defense and three on offense has something to do with it? Butch inherited the bigger dumpster fire.

Arkansas was winning 10-11 football games a year just 2 years ago. We are FAR removed from that. There are no legacy players from glory days who can relay to underclassmen the work ethic necessary to play championship caliber football. We had to start from utter scratch.

Underrated post
People on here wont understand but good point

We will get there. It is a process and Butch is doing it from scratch and I think once we get there we will be there for a long time. And I'm never gonna take being in the top 25 for granted ever again! Go Vols!

Pittman is one of the best in the country?? How many threads were there while he was here talking about the line underachieving?

Everyone needs to step off the ledge. This young team is fighting their guts out to win... they're gonna beat a team or two no one thinks we will beat. I'm disappointed in some of the play calling and on field mistales, but they're fighting and have the talent to improve.

Threads like this one and some of the others today are the message board equivalent of monkeys ****ting in their hands and throwing it at each other.

Love CBJ, can't stand Bielema, wouldn't trade em. But if the question is who's taken a train wreck of a program and has them improved to greater level, with a greater chance to challenge for a division title sooner? At this point.....it's hands down Bielema.

The deal is in 2 years Butch and the Vols will be national champion contenders and this thread cannot stop it from happening. Good day :hi:

Hahahahahahahaha.

What a riot.

UT hasn't been Eastern division contenders and in 2 years they are gonna contend for a National Title?

Not smart.

I don't know any of us who hope that doesn't happen. But I do think that reasonable people can have conversations about the wisdom of this offensive philosophy. There's no doubt that CBJ has all the intangibles you could ever want in a coach. The O is the only question that I have.

Quite a few threads about that and they were all proven wrong - but that's not surprising given how many idiots are registered on the forum.

Exactly. The O line improved under Pittman by any metric you want to use. It just got lost because his boss was a clown and the D was a dumpster fire.
