So, about that OC position.... (Merged)

That's all in your mind. This search looks bad to overzealous fans because donkey reporters keep throwing stuff against the wall hoping it sticks, and everytime they do so they work this part of the fanbase into a frenzy. For all we know Pruitt had his guy months ago. I don't believe any of these guys and I also don't believe waiting this long has hurt us one bit. Fans getting in their feels over the hiring of an assistant coach is ridiculous I feel. Go back and look what overzealous Clemson fans said would happen when Dabo got hired, tell me what was said when Clemson hired their 2 unknown Co-OCs, hell tell me the names of the Clemson OCs if you can. Bottom line is that the fans opinion of the hiring of an OC mean nothing to the program and why should they? Results are all that matters and my guess is that Pruitt will hire who he thinks will help the program be successful.

So he has hired someone yet they have not named it yet? I thought that plausible until it wasn't. If he had hired someone then what would be the reason not to name them to the public by now? No reason right? I mean NFL is done as well as College. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter as its not my call or any other fans call. Although at the end of the day you have to agree due to previous blunders that this does look somewhat odd. Every other team has managed to find their staff while we are still looking.

That's not a true statement, every team in the country is looking to fill assistant coaches at this time of year just like any other normal year. There are several Power5 programs searching for both OC and DC this time of year. I just think it's stupid for fans to get riled up over the hiring of an assistant coach.

He has actually already hired someone. He is hust hiding it as part of the grand plan to not show his offense to teams we play next year.
Sad you cant see his brilliance, pathetic really.

Just got a story that Freddie Kitchens is now the favorite to land the Browns HC job. So that's very likely another potential name off the board. Even if he doesn't land it, being considered for it probably gives him too many opportunities in the NFL to consider a college job.

Kitchens is so 2018... In 2019, If you've not heard, it's Chaney, Sark, Monken, [insert name here, just not Kitchens], etc...🤨😁

USC jumped out there real quick and hired Kliff Kingsbury as their new OC. How did that work out for them?
That's right, glad Pruitt didn't listen to some on here gushing over Kingsbury, that sucks for USC but that's why rushing to a hire isn't a good idea until after CFB and NFL seasons are done

WF is the perfect OC for CJP:

1. Familiar with current system, so no "spool up" time needed;

2. Cheap, since he's grateful for the opportunity and won't butt heads with CJP;

3. As a former OL coach, intimately familiar with the unit that all agree is the backbone of any successful offense, and;

4. Since he's already here, CJP can forget about interviews and concentrate on 'crootin.

Its clear.
