And for anyone who might've missed this...

Staff photographer Donald Page and VFL Films’ Isaac Fowler and Tim Morris followed Tennessee’s Bluetick Coonhound mascot Smokey X, from his cushy home life with his Knoxville owners to his celebrity turn on game days at Neyland Stadium and on the road. They captured all sides of Smokey’s life, from his prime spot at every football game to the love, affection and, most of all, treats from Vol Nation. Not only is he one of college football’s top dogs, but he’s a treasured member of two families — the Hudsons and Vols fans nationwide.

A blue tick will be my next dog.

They are amazing. This is my 5th one and after a few days you can tell there bark from every other hound dog. I take in blue ticks that have been beat by hunters bc they want hunt.

I myself hunt, but I have never seen the reason behind beating a coon dog that wont.

We rescued a blue tick here in Texas. He is the best dog anyone could ever hope for. They need room to run but otherwise are amazing animals. Nothing gets by him. We will always have one after this experience.

They actually make a good hunting dog. My dad has one now (at least I know he did last Christmas), and has had several over the years.

You sound surprised that they make good hunting dogs.lol Blueticks are amazing hunters especially in rough terrain. I rescued mine from the local shelter, she's kinda small for a Bluetick but has a huge personality.
