Smokey Grays in Baton Rouge?

No bs uniforms for Bama. Our colors are Orange and White.

Orange and white are our primary colors, but we also have black and gray (both containing orange) as alternate options. Having alternates and doing something new is not a crime, nor is it an attack on tradition. It’s simply giving the players more options. It’s fun for them & recruits like it too. As fans, we should simply support them whatever THEY CHOOSE to wear.

Seems to good to be true…does LSU wear white at home sometime?

That’s the only way we should even be allowed to do this. IMO the home team should get to determine the visitors Jersey to making sure it doesn’t interfere with theirs.

Like if USC jr was wearing black jerseys last year when we wore black.
LSU almost always wears white at home.

Agree. If LSU wears white jerseys we should wear orange. Much easier for Hooker to spot receivers.
Not a fan of this… harder jersey to see for Hooker. We gotta score a lot at LSU

I’m sorry but this is the dumbest excuse to not wear Smokey greys I’ve heard yet. A dark grey/black with orange numbers during the day on a green field would be hard for Hooker to see??? Is this a joke? 😂

Either orange or grey would be easily identifiable vs a white LSU uniform. How does TTU ever throw a TD? Or Louisville or Drew Breeze when Saints wore black??

Honestly, it should be the team and Captain's choice. They are the dudes on the field grinding it out to entertain us.
This, and nothing else. These players win the games. They can wear pink and purple as long as they keep winning.

It’s just a uniform after all. The traditions talk is ridiculous. If we are only running on traditions then drop rocky top, no more running through thru the T, go back to black uniforms with orange stripes on the sleeves, and blow up the jumbotrons and half the stadium.

Orange and White has been pretty good to us this year. I'd stick with what got me where I'm at. Plus, I'm a traditionalist. Orange and white always for me, but I'd be cheering for the Vols no matter what they wear.

They wear white at home. If the team wants to wear them they should. Stuff like this gets the team hyped. And the weather seems to be cooling down same with the humidity. Especially in the mornings.

Smokey Grey's at LSU will look phenomenal during the daytime. They do not work at night. Orange and LSU yeller look weird out their together. I'm actually pumped @ taking those smokey mountain helmets into the bayou. Should be a really good look on TV.

No black for Bammer. Let them wear their Crimson and let's get that back to OR v CR. I heard they were holding that up.

I don't want black at all, but if it's coming, then UK is good. Day games look better for BK imo.

My official opinion has now been registered.

You’re Tennessee Vols will be running into Death Valley sporting the Smokey Grays!

*inside source stitching on the patches and names himself

Black jerseys will make an appearance vs either Bama or UK. Undecided at the moment.

Absolutely no on wearing them against Alabama.

That's what I heard, at least since Saban has been there. Kiffin wanted to do it in 2009 but Alabama refused and I think we've tried a few times after and they have said no.

I have no doubt that some work is being done, most of the names would have been done by Ripon or Powers Athletic before they were shipped, but they probably had to do some names locally for walk-ons, etc. It’s definitely possible that is what he was told by whoever got them set up, but the availability of the uniform to be worn on-field is still partially dictated by Nike. If the retail component isn’t ready to go, then they won’t be released to be worn.

I’ll concede that anything is possible, but the Smokey Gret is only supposed to be worn once this year and I’d be absolutely stunned if that one time comes on the road in a noon game.

Like I said before, I am very surprised at this news, because retailers have still not received the gear, other than replica jerseys. I know at least one major retailer of Tennessee apparel was told they as recently as last week that they would absolutely not wear the uniforms until the supporting retail product was in store.

Agree teams that wore them against Bama and it didn't work out the age old joke is they dressed for the funeral. While this is a winnable game for once against those guys if the cards fall right. No sense in adding to jokes if we get hammered. I like the grays so would either take the opportunity at LSU or wait till Kentucky.
