Smokey Gray Uniform this year

I don't like the answer and just because you agree with him means nothing to me. I've never worn anything other than orange in Neyland and that's not changing. So my wallet is closed to the DM gear.

While the average fan, as you suggest, may only get to vote with their wallet on just licensed gear, donors wallets speak a different language.
You're free to wear whatever you'd like to Neyland. The sales numbers on the black apparel, including the jerseys, mean they aren't going away. Players like them very much, you'll notice that most recruits in football are wearing the back uniforms in their recruiting visit photos.

Donor wallets do speak a different language on some things, mostly facility upgrades. They haven't taken action on the black uniforms.

That’s not a news drop, the Smokey Grey Series announced by UT in 2022 was through the 2025 season. Adidas may have a different idea, but the brand standards that UT has adopted has Dark Mode as the alternate uniform for men’s sports and Summitt Blue for the women’s teams going forward.
I remember the Smokey Grey series deal. I just assumed it would be renewed.

But I’m good with it. Just going with the black as the alternate is fine with me. While I’m a traditionalist, I’ve come to terms with the fact that in this day and age, there will be alternates. And the dark mode combo is a fantastic look. Plus, as a traditionalist, maybe this means one less game with alternates every year. Just a dark mode game (around Halloween when the schedule allows) and orange & white every other game.

If we need to do an alt uniform/helmet, I would be interested to see some choices besides Gray.
I get doing it for clothing sales. I just thing gray may not be the best choice every year.
Maybe a nice pink would suit you. You know, breast cancer awareness.

Maybe Adidas can redeem itself and make some nice throwbacks . They definitely don’t need to try and do Smokey Grey uniforms again.

Our team would look like Rainbow Sherbet with Pantone 151 and pink.

I don't think many fans , and especially our players, still remember the gray refers to the Smokey Mtns. When few remember the point of the design, it should be retired. I would like a new approach to an alternate uniform. I don't have anything specific in mind, but would like to see some ideas.

Our brand is too traditional to go to'o to'o far off the reservation with uniforms.
I like the black uniform for Halloween. I think that has become a great tradition. Maybe Kiffin's finest contribution to UT Sports.
I hated the orange helmets. It made us look like Clemson. I am just OCD enough that those helmets being the wrong color is the bigger factor for me disliking the orange hats.

The only throwback jerseys I would specifically like to see would be the 90s Stormtroopers, with as many of our 90s stars in attendance as possible wearing them in Neyland. Maybe an updated version of the Sports Belle big number jerseys would work too. The Jumbotron could just run lots of highlights of the legacy players in attendance crushing SEC opponents and making big plays.

Of course not. Lyle was the one who "educated" us on it. In between smothering us before and after with "individuals". And most are trying like Hell to forget him.

And as to Kiffin's "finest contribution"? That makes remembering Lyle better. F that guy 4 ever.

I don't mind the greys.......could be worse the way society going, forcing us to wear Rainbow colored uniforms in honor June.......

I'm pretty much over the grays. I wish they'd just go with the dark modes at whatever games is close to Halloween. If we end up with Adidas again, I could get behind a throwback. They tend to be good at those.

I’ll reserve judgment until I see them on the field. Although, I’m not a fan of script Tennessee or Volunteers across the chest. If Adidas and our in house crew bring back script Tennessee across the chest to any of our traditional uniforms I will go Schiano Sunday .
