Is this Barnes final four team in Knoxville?

Better chance next year if Springer and Keon stick around for a 2nd year. Chandler addresses a big need. If a big post player can be added or developed then the pieces are in place. Being lucky is critical as well... no injuries or departures of key players. A Final Four this year is asking a lot considering only 2 players out of 13 have been on the active roster for much more than a year.

Barnes inability to recruit and keep a decent big man has been his downfall. Adding Chandler to this years team would make all the difference in the world. Alot of wasted scholarships with our post players at this point ( Pember, Uros, Kumwah)

It's hard to take your opinion seriously when you post "Kumwah"

You call what Barnes has done at UT a downfall? Slither back under your rock

Sorry, this post was in response to 85's post[/QUOTE

i Actually like Barnes and while I think he is somewhat stubborn, I do think he’s probably the second best coach we’ve ever had. however, I think when you are one of the highest paid coaches in the country there needs to be results to equal your compensation. A tourney appearance every few years doesn’t quite cut it.

We are not quick enough to guard the perimeter and not physical enough to guard the post. No go to scorer. Not sure the current system fits this personnel. Fulky gets manhandled every game. He can’t help it. Body type does not allow him to be physical. He has also lost quickness due to hypertension of knee...

This is exactly what I see as a key issue...the teams we have lost to have crowded us on the offensive perimeter which we fail to exploit while too easily getting to the paint on our defensive side of the ball. It also does not help that we have struggled mightily from the free throw line.
