"I felt like I was going to wind up back at UT but I wanted to talk with Coach (Derek) Dooley to make sure that's where I belonged," Smith said in an exclusive interview with the Times Free Press. "He started the conversation by trying to talk me into coming back and before he got very far I told him I would be back. I didn't want to waste any more of his time because we have a lot of other guys that he needs to be working on.

"I wanted to let him know real quick that I am still the guy who wants to play for Tennessee more than anybody."

He bleeds orange! I cannot wait to see this beast on the field! These are the playerwe need, ones that want to be hereregardless of the coach!

With the EE's not being able to leave and apparently not willing to sit out a year...this class will not be too bad...if they can save Dixon and Ambles, that would be huge...add some quality players along the way.

Smith is the kind of guy who, I have no doubt, will give his all for Tennessee every Saturday. And after the events of these past few weeks, that's all I can ask for. Excited that he's going to be on our side!

Well gee, I guess he wanted to wear the "yellow" jersey as opposed to wearing the Wild Irish Rose and Baby Vomit jerseys of a certain Pac-10 program.

Congrats! Y'all needed that. JS has been a cornerstone, a leader and recruitier for UT's 2010 class.

i covered the guy in high school and he is a class act...His head coach Bennie Monroe doesn't allow for anything less..
No one could block him in high school even as a sophmore he was good..just needed some fine tuning..but his abilities are awesome....He could even work as a tight end...

Smith is ALLVOL and will be All American by the time he is done. He is an absolute monster. Any news on Loften?? Would love to have Dixon, but Loften seems like a quality player.

now Smith can call the other prospects and tell them how he had doubts too, but that he was impressed when he met the new coach. He's been a lead recruiter for us all season, so now hope he can help herd up all the lost sheep and bring them home.
