Smile we got Smikle!

I hope you are right, of course, but for the life of me I can’t recall a single player who came back to full strength when they were predicted to. 😞 Also, Smikle has endured two season ending knee injuries, one at Rutgers and then at Maryland. Seems lo me she could be a tad less experienced than some just because of all the missed court time. That would, IMO, also likely add up to her taking extra time to even go through the prerequisite unlearning/learning new cycle that’s ahead for her.

Like I said, I hope she is a hoss and can be ready to go and contribute big-time during those early out-of-conference matchups — but I won’t be surprised if there are delays and setbacks that last well into the season.
If it is just her meniscus, it shouldn’t linger or be a big deal.

From a pure moneyball perspective, the proven production on this roster by far exceeds what we had. Chemistry, buy in, and effort will determine how good we can be next year instead of talent. Really excited to see us rolling out with some real shot makers and everyone with a chip on their shoulder.

Kellie Jolly comes to mind. With hard work at rehabilitation it's possible
What Kellie did to get back so quickly said everything about her competitiveness. But if she were asked today if she thought she came back too quickly, I suspect she’d say yes.

I’ll always love her for making that sacrifice for the program, but truth be told, it probably cost her health-wise, and made it even less possible for her to play professionally. She was drafted, and it would have been difficult for her to stick even on two healthy legs… but I will always be convinced she may have been able to play SOMEwhere professionally if she had given herself a longer rehabilitation period. She simply lost too much lateral movement. 😪
