Tablets suck if you need to do anything, book flights, trade stocks, etc.

Any recommendations for a windows laptop? Small, light, not too expensive? Other things to consider?
Any laptops you've had a problem with?

I have windows PC, and not interested in Apple.

Get a Lenovo or a Microsoft Surface. I have a Dell at work and it's crap. Every HP and ASUS I've ever had have been full of bloat wear. I used to have an Acer that was ok but it had weird issues with the UI at times.

I’ve got a Lenovo Ideapad. I think it’s 14”. Lightweight. Good battery life. Touchscreen, and you can fold it over and use it as a tablet, if you want.

Lenovo or Acer are about the only two brands I trust anymore. I had a Lenovo Yoga 2 for years and passed it on to my daughter. They are light and powerful.
