Slowing but surely catching on Vandy's unstoppable class!!!!

When Vandy's class has been rated in the top 25 all season, we haven't had a winning season in 3 years, and our last matchup was a bad loss against Vandy, Im not going to complain about catching up and beating them once again in recruiting. This isn't the same Vandy and it definitely isn't the same UT.

When UT is back to its winning ways, then we can laugh away at Vandy again. Until then, we need to keep things in perspective.

Once Vandy gets a tougher schedule and they lose their coach to a better job, they will start losing again.

Once their schedule gets tougher, I see Franklin getting on the first train out of here. He does not want his resume to show a losing season at Vandy. He will take their easy schedule and get as many wins as possible then head for greener grass...

Vanderbilt should never--EVER--be ahead of us to the point that we feel a need to celebrate when we "catch up" to them in recruiting.

That is reality at this point, weve had a screwed up program the last few years with dumb decisions. They wont be in the future.

Vandy freakin sucks! Really? 2 fours and the rest a bunch of undersized 3s. I'll take our class any day over those bunch of arrogant asses' class

I agree, I wouldn't trade our class either. They only have 1DL, no impact OL. We are going to finish better than them too.

I don't really see why Vandy shouldn't be able to recruit.

For those players out there who are capable of playing SEC caliber football and don't view college as a "stay NCAA qualified just long enough to see if I get a shot in pros" kind of thing, why wouldn't they be attracted to Vandy?

It's the best education in the SEC, VU is a beautiful campus, and Nashville is arguably one of the most fun towns in the conference. The fact that the football team is playing respectable football now is gravy.

If my kid was offered a scholarship to Vanderbilt, I would be absolutely stoked.

Huh?

Gotta disagree with that. A bulldozer and a wrecking crew could help tho.

Can't do that. I was raised orange, and I put too much sweat and tears into my sheepskin to lose faith at this point.

I was just making the point that Vandy has a good story to tell to a certain kind of player. If Stanford or Notre Dame can field a decent squad, so should Vandy.

Plus, I just don't see any value in beating anybody else down. If it were up to me, every team we played would be undefeated and ranked No.1 in the country when we played them. That way when you win, it's worth the most.

Dont think I've ever seen a post need a "no homo" more than that one.

Yeah, I was just trying to help the brother out. :)

Can't wait to see how this class wraps up. Spring is around the corner and I'm ready for it.

It was mighty nice when I lived in Nashville years ago. It's been a while, 17 years I guess.

If you considered it a dump then, I guess you think the same about UTK?

It was old and outdated then...now they should just knock it all down and start over.

Or dont...I dont really care.

Stanford is a good comparison. Putting ND in the same class educationally as Vandy & Stanford however, is offensive to those schools.

The fans need to stop worrying about where this class ranks for UT. The only thing that matters is how many quality players a new coach can snag in his first class where he only has two months to sway recruits.

Next year is when you can start star gazing & worrying about ranks again.

This quote seems to come up every year at this time

Take away 3 of Vandy's 4 TE's and there class is closer to 80. How many can play at a time?

I'd like to have Nigel Bowden though.

Vandy actually only has 2 TEs committed. Vandenburg and Parsons are TEs. Nathan Marcus is an H-Back and Mack Weaver was recruited as a DE despite where Rivals lists these guys.

And the class isnt quite done as both Zach and Jordan Cunningham as well as Jeremy Tyler are announcing tomorrow. Skai Moore is as well, but is a longshot (will go to South Carolina, IMO)

disagree..Vandy has a quality campus with a great location.

agreed, and the Midtown/Vandy area is only getting better. With all of the development going on downtown (Midtown/The Gulch/SoBro/Elliston/12th South) geared towards people in their mid 20's-30's Vandy will have many new options to use in recruiting.

I dislike Vandy just like the rest of you here, but, as someone who lives downtown, I would never be able to talk bad about their campus. It's in a great location and they are currently doing new projects to add on to it.

I'm hoping we can sign both Zach and Jordan Cunningham, Moore and Tyler would be nice too

Worth a like and a bump. Vandy is Vandy. They have had a couple of good years, got to give them credit. We have had a few bad years but my instinct tells me that CBJ refuses to fail at UT. This is his dream job and he has poured himself into it. He has some repairing to do and by the amount of talent that got interested in Tennessee this late in the recruiting game, I think he's the man for the job. We should end up fine this year (recruit wise), a good start for Butch. Time will tell but my gut tells me that we got a good one in CBJ.
